Templates & Settings


Templates allow you to define certain event settings for reuse across your events. Defineable settings include skin, language, system sounds, avatars, reader logins, and custom ads.

NOTE: Please customize and save your template before launching your event. Changes to a Template that are made after your event is live will NOT impact the live event.

When you are ready to begin building a custom template, please go to My Account > Appearance & Settings and follow the instructions provided. For more information on your template options, please select a link below.



Template Settings


If you use certain event settings frequently we recommend saving these as part of a template:


  • System Sound: The Viewer Window has a built in system sound that makes a short click noise to notify your Readers when you add a new comment during a live event. The Reader can turn this option on or off using the Viewer Window controls. Use the custom options to set the sound to either on or off for each template.

  • Reader Comments: By default the Viewer Window allows readers to submit comments for approval by the writer. To disable reader comments for your template, set the option to "off". Learn more about Managing Reader Comments.

  • Writer Avatars: You can display your own avatar beside every one of your event postings. Your panelists/producers will also have their avatars shown.





Template Distribution


You can share templates with other Enterprise Account Members or Group Members. Any templates that have been shared with you will be listed in your template dropdown list (sorted by the template owners name), so that you can easily apply them to an event. This feature is helpful if you want to ensure that all of your live events have a consistent branded look.


To share a Template: First select your template from the "Template & Settings" page. Next under "Distribution" check the share checkbox next to your Enterprise Account and/or Group name(s). After you save your changes the template will be available to all of your Account or Group Members.



  • Account Members: As a member in an Enterprise Account you can share templates with other account members. Members can use this template when they build an event. Only the template owner can edit the template.

  • Group Members: As a member in a Group you can share templates with other group members. Members can use this template when they build an event. Only the template owner can edit the template.

  • Set Account Default: If you are the Administrator of an Enterprise Account you can set a default template. This template will be automatically selected when anyone in the selected Account builds a new live event; unless the member has already set a personal default template.

  • Personal Default: Choose the personal default check box and this template will be automatically selected when you build a new live event.



Applying a Template


Any templates that you have built (or those have been shared with you) will appear in your Template dropdown list when you build a new event. Simply select the name of the template to apply it to your event. Please customize and save your template before launching your event. Changes to a Template that are made after your event is live will not impact the live event.
