Reader Login Options
CoveritLive's Reader Login options allow you to easily integrate existing login services (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace) with your event. This can be used to control who watches your event and how readers make comments.
For more advanced users, the Reader API allows you to connect your own proprietary login system with your CoveritLive events.
Use the Reader login options to:
- Identify community members with familiar username and avatars
- Create options for community and access to event

Instructions for Login Options
|
|
Getting Started
- You can set up your Reader Login options at the template level (from the "Templates & Settings" page) or on an event by event basis (when building a new event). The steps are the same with either option.
|
 |
Go to > 'Add New' OR 'Templates & Settings'
 |
Enable your Options
- Enable your login options by clicking the check box next to "Enable Reader Login Options".
|

Control Access to your Events
- Viewing your Event: Select one of the viewing options. For public events you will likely want to keep your event open to all readers. For private events you can control access by requiring readers to login to view.
- Commenting during your Event: If you select, "Readers do not have to login to view event" then you will be presented with
three commenting options; no login required, mandatory login, or optional login. Select the option that best suits your event needs.

 |
Tip! Need to set up a pay-per-view event or drive site membership? Use the Reader API options to set up your own proprietary login system. Next set your login options to require Readers to login. Only logged in Members will be able to access your event.

|
SPECIAL FEATURE: Open Chat Option
- On a limited basis CiL is allowing select users to make use of our new open chat option which allows for completely unmoderated comments. This option includes full banning capabilities, which are stronger then cookie or IP banning.
If you are interested in activating this option for your account please contact customer service (include your CiL username in the request).

Unmoderated Comments

 |
Tip! Open chat works best when used for private events with select members. We do not recommend open chat for large public events. To deliver quality content to your readers it’s important that the writer stays in control of the live event.
