Gun violence shocks metro. Latest story on double-murder /suicide in today's Telegram.

A lot of people in the province were somewhat relieved Wednesday to know that this incident didn't involve a gunman on the loose, randomly attacking people.
But, domestic violence in this province is also a real concern and this incident will likely spark that debate again.

Coincidentally, Rosie Gillingham has continuing coverage in today's Telegram on the trial of accused murderer David Folker, who admitted in court last week that there was an altercation betwween him and his girlfriend Ann Marie Shirran that led to her death. He also has admitted to disposing of her body in Cappahayden on the Southern Shore.

However, he has entered not guilty pleas to second-degree murder and improperly or indecently interfering with a human body.

Here's a link to Rosie's latest story.

This is one item I include in the blog every week but it makes me cringe, especially with winter around the corner and the need to burn more fuel.

The price of all fuels are up today. Here's the latest from the NL Petroleum Pricing Office:

The changes to maximum fuel prices are as follows:

• all types of gasoline motor fuel will increase by up to 2.2 cents per litre (cpl);
• diesel motor fuel will increase by up to 1.4 cpl;
• furnace oil heating fuel will increase by 1.27 cpl;
• stove oil heating fuel will increase by 1.26 cpl; and,
• propane heating fuel will increase by 1.1 cpl.
