It's been a beautiful weekend and today it looks like it will be another hot September day.
Environment Canada is forecasting a high of 24 degrees Celsius.

It was a busy weekend in St. John's-metro for police and emergency personnel.

Two women were taken to hospital Sunday after an ATV overturned in the Foxtrap pastureland area. One woman had to be airlifted to hospital with possible back injuries.

A man almost drowned in Torbay, but people on the scene successfully resusciated him and he was taken to hospital. The extent of his injuries are not known.

In another water-related incident, on Saturday, around 11:15 p.m., Trinity Conception RCMP received a call from a resident of Coley's Point advising that they could hear a person out on the ocean calling for help. 

The Wolverine's Search and Rescue assisted with a zodiac rescue boat and were able to successfully retrieve the man and his boat.

Police say the man couldn't get his engine started and was very thankful that somebody heard him calling out. There were no injuries, and the RCMP said the man was properly dressed for the situation.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating a home invasion in St. John's Sunday.

According to police, around 7 a.m., two masked people carrying weapons forced their way into a home on Beothuck Street and demanded cash from the homeowners. They then fled on foot.
