Good morning:

It seems the rain and wind Thursday night in the St. John's-metro region wasn't as bad as predicted.

According to Environment Canada, 26.6 mm of rain fell in St. John's Thursday.

Today, we could actually see some sun with a 60 per cent chance of showers late this morning and this afternoon. The temperature is now around 4 Celsius, and expected to rise to 8 today.

Winds are expected to increase, with gusts up to 70 km/h this morning, but so far it seems pretty calm.

Here's the Environment Canada weather graphic and more detailed text version of the forecast for St. John's and vicinity.
