The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says a 26-year-old man advised officers early this morning there was a warrant out for his arrest — and that he wanted to turn himself in.
He was arrested and held for court.
Notes the RNC's overnight report: "The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary would be more than happy to help any other persons who wish to turn themselves in for outstanding warrants of arrest and encourage persons to do so."

RNC officers responded to a call of unknown trouble in the Old Petty Harbour Road last night.
Upon arrival, they encountered an assault in progress.
Officers diffused the situation and charged three people custody.
An 18 year old male charged with assault causing bodily harm and breach of a court order. He was held in custody.
A 19 year old man was charged with assault causing bodily harm. He was released to attend court at a later date.
A 19 year old male was charged with obstruction .He was released to attend court at a later date.

Being stopped for speeding Tuesday resulted in a 48-year-old Goose Bay man being arrested for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a dangerous weapon.
RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay say the man also faces numerous charges under the highway traffic act.
Police say they stopped a speeding motor vehicle on Hamilton River Road.
The man was charged and will appear in bail court today
The cocaine had an estimated street value of $2,000. Some cash was also seized.

"The Balmoral, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, arrives at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27 and leaves at 5 p.m. Its visit to St. John’s is part of a ‘Canada’s Eastern Seaboard’ month long itinerary began on Sept. 5 from Southampton, United Kingdom. The cruise included Ireland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Quebec. St. John’s is its final destination before returning to the United Kingdom. The Balmoral has 1,340 passengers and 471 crew."
