Here's a release from the RCMP about Santa visiting children at the Janeway.

On Saturday, Dec. 07, 2013 at 10 AM the RCMP and friends will host its 30th Annual Janeway Children’s Hospital Christmas party. This special event is for children who cannot leave the hospital over Christmas.
RCMP members, in their traditional red serge, and Santa Claus will arrive at the Janeway by police car with bags of presents. They put together a huge Christmas party at the Pirate Ship for the kids with the help of Santa’s helpers and The Co-Operators Group Insurance, who provides a gift for every child who attends.
The party is hosted by VOCM’s Brian O’Connell and will feature the following entertainers:
The CLB Regimental Band
10:10: The Sweet Forget Me Nots
10:30: Shanneyganock
11:00: The Once
11:30: Siochana
11:45: St. Pat’s Dancers
12:00: Greg Tobin
The media is invited to this event. Please RSVP to Helen Cleary-Escott before Dec. 07th. The party starts at 10 AM, but Santa does not arrive till 12 noon. Reporters are asked to meet at the Janeway’s side door next to the Rehab by 11:30 AM to see Santa and the RCMP arriving in the police cruiser with their lights flashing at noon.
This event is not open to the public. It is for Janeway patients and staff only.

You often hear police warning to never leave your keys in your vehicle when it's unattended. Well, that goes for graders too.

The Labrador West Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded Tuesday to a report of a theft of a motor vehicle at the Labrador Mall parking lot by Vanier Avenue in Labrador City.

According to police, someone had climbed into an unoccupied grader truck while the operator had gone into the mall for a minute.

The person drove the vehicle about 50 meters doing minor damage to another vehicle before exiting the grader and leaving the scene.

There were no injuries in the incident. Police are still investigating the matter and requesting that if any member of the public has any information regarding this incident to contact RNC in Labrador City or Crime Stoppers.
