How much momentum do we have going into this game?
Friday May 10, 2013 2:02 Rob in Beantown
2:02
None. Obviously. I was laughing listening to some radio guys talking about the momentum the Rangers have. LMAO.

Never had really any time at all to spend in D.C., not since the 1980s. Last year's day off was spent sleeping because of the 3 OT game.

Given how Brassard and Moore have played in the postseason, do you still think the Gabby trade was a bad one?
Friday May 10, 2013 2:04 Rob in Beantown
2:05
I'm reserving judgment for the 82-game season and until I see what Brassard actually is. As I said the other day, whatever he is, I'm sure Gaborik would not have done as much in Games 3 and 4. But (ducks) maybe Gaborik gets one in Game 2 when it's 0-0 in the third and OT, when Brassard was a ghost?

Did you agree with the charging call against Ovie last game?
Friday May 10, 2013 2:05 De Jota
2:06
Yes. It's a little bit of pansification, but that's the rule. He made no attempt to prevent the goal and charged, from a long way, then launched himself at the player's upper body/head. If he'd hit him cleanly it might have even been reviewable. But it was definitely a charging minor, IMO.

Friday May 10, 2013 2:06 Jeff B

He'd better be. But I don't think he's been nearly as horrible a some of you think he's been.

Carp, can the last line change for Oates be effective in preventing the Rangers from starting the game in DC as physically as they did in Game 4?
Friday May 10, 2013 2:07 Cousin Tom
2:08
Perhaps. And also the home crowd kind of makes that early physical surge easier for the home team, obviously. But I wonder if Oates will be more concerned with getting his physical players out, or with trying to get Ovechkin away from McDonagh.

Carp - Who will we see on the first PP unit? Will Richards finally be demoted?
Friday May 10, 2013 2:08 Rob from Lawn Guy Land
2:09
I don't know about Richards being demoted, but I think you will see more of Zuccarello and Brassard out there. If only they had a real point person, and someone who could transport the puck up ice, Richards would be off of it, I think.

I can't answer that. I don't even mind him on the halfboards, but I dislike it when he floats out toward the point instead of working to find some open space in the circles.

Sucks. And now with Staal I'm wondering if he needs more time because of the eye or if something happened concussion wise when he took that hit
Friday May 10, 2013 2:12 James G
2:13
Possible. I don't want to guess, though I don't think he'd be skating if it was a concussion. That was a huge hit by Brouwer.

Did you catch Skidmark Crosby giving a face wash to a guy while wearing his motorcycle helmet at the end of the Crybabies vs. Brooklanders Game 4? Was that vintage Crosby pansification, or what?

Do you think the criticism of Ovechkin gliding casually during that great passing play where Stepan scored last game is warranted or just a case of bad optics?

He's glided on a few Rangers goals in this series. He does that, you know? Like Robinson Cano on a grounder. Or a hit. Or a double.
