Hiring a President(05/06/2008)

I am watching Hillary Clinton give her speech and I don't understand how she can stand there and say she is going to be the nominee for her party.

I don't know if any of my readers are online right now, but I would love to hear from you if you can help me with the math.

The first thing Hillary said, is "onward to the White House". I struggle to understand how she will legitimately be the nominee for the Democratic Party.

I wrote about Fair Play tonight prior to the numbers coming in on the primaries in NC and Indiana. Take a look and tell me what you think: http://www.interviewchatter.com/political-chat-at-interview-chatter-fair-play/.

As I watch Hillary speak tonight, I have to believe that she knows it is time to get out of this race.

Here's my take, as Hillary speaks of W. Virginia and winning the general elections, I am only left to think that she is willing to take down a party and a man in order to win this nomination.

It is interesting to see her on the stage with her husband and daughter. It sounds like she may be moving closer to bowing out. Am I delusional or is she?

The CNN pundits are saying the math is overwhelming - there is no way to for Hillary to get to the finish line without cheating.

Let me correct what I am saying. The pundits are saying the math is overwhelming. I am saying that Hillary has to cheat in order to win. That is strong I am sure, but I can't see any other way to do it and i want Hillary to bow out.

For the record i am not a Democrat. What I am is a fan of the political process in our country. I don't want to see two people destroyed over this presidential race.

John King is speaking about the numbers in Inidiana. We are still waiting for the large northwest county to report their numbers.

I wonder who can convince Hillary to bow out? President Clinton? Close advisors? Hillary wants to win. I understand that.. I even understand the significance of her candidacy, but I think it is time to gracefully step out of the race.

Anyone out there tonight? What are your thoughts on the race?
Tuesday May 6, 2008 11:05

Lanny Davis is saying this is a "great victory for Hillary". HOW can he say this? Again, am I delusional?

2209 is the "Clinton metric" for winning. At least someone is trying to share the new math with me. 2025 is the real number that the candidancy needs to win the nomination. Why can't we just all agree that 2 + 2 = 4
Tuesday May 6, 2008 11:11

did you see the popular vote tally
Tuesday May 6, 2008 11:18
11:20
O - 49% to C 48% - Primaries
O - 49% to C 47% - Caucuses
With FL
O - 49% to C 47%
in all three scenarios Obama is winning.

An interesting comment by a republican strategist, "one thing about the clinton's is that they don't let a little thing like losing stop them from running for President." That is a powerful statement. It really speaks to what I wrote about fair play.

I grew up playing games and learned from an early age to always play to win. I also don't play games I can't win. That is ingrained in me. I suspect that Hillary and President Clinton have that same spirit to the nth degree. That is what I see as a problem in this presidential run. People that play to win, and don't like to lose, do things sometimes to attempt to win influence the game to their advantage.

That would be detrimental to the process. I truly hope that doesn't happen in this presidential race.

She has won the big states, her message is resignating with voters, this is Hillary's argument to the superdelegates. She can not win this nomination, and the longer Hillary stays in this race, the more damage to her party she will bring. In my opinion.

What do you think about Lake County, IN holding all of their results?

You know, I titled this live blog, "Hiring a President". I truly believe that we get to be hiring managers in this process of election. As the national race begins to gear up, what will you use to help you vote in November? Is it a popularity contest or will you evaluate the best candidate based on issues? Will you vote your party line or are you willing to cross party lines to select the person, the candidate you believe will be the best candidate, the President to run this country?

Lake County has not reported their votes and it's almost midnight. Are there any ethical concerns from your perspective?

For those of you who take the time to read through this live blog post,   I would love your feedback. Would you be willing to participate in a live blog post with me? I think i will begin to do this on a weekly basis. More to come on this thought. Are there any topics you would like to discuss on a live post?

I was about to sign off, and Lake County has just begun to report their votes. The margin just decreased to 2%. WOW
Tuesday May 6, 2008 11:47

28% of the votes just came in all at once and changed the results

John King is very good with his map tool. Very interesting to me as a facilitator. I digress, which means it is probably time for me to end this live blog. I didn't have any comments tonight, I do look forward to providing this option in the near future with you as a reader. Scroll down and let me know what you think! Have a great night!
