Gainsborough visit Highbury this evening in search of a win to avenge the 4-3 defeat suffered against the Codheads back in October. Since then they have signed Luke Beckett, Huddersfield Town's leading goal scorer over the past two seasons. Becket has 10 league goals to his credit and Gainsborough officials believe he will be the perfect compliment for a creative midfield.

Micky Mellon will be hoping that Chris Williams has recovered from his thigh strain which caused him to sit out on the away defeat at Hinckley. Chris seemed quite confident on Saturday that he'd be right as rain for this one. Fingers crossed. John Hills is nearly there on the recovery from injury. Not quite right for this evening's game though. Danny Penswick is included in the squad after his return from a loan period at Witton.

For the third time in less than two weeks Fleetwood will be playing a team in 10th position while occupying the place below the opposition.Gainsborough are 3 points ahead but have played 4 more games.This game was originally scheduled for the 10th jan but bit the dust before kick off due to a frozen pitch. Gainsborough occupied the same 10th place at the time with Fleetwood 8 points adrift in 17th place

Just a few stats to throw in the mixer.

Fact 1: Fleetwood have scored in their last 18 home games in all competitions. This dates back to the 2nd Sept 08 when Town went down 0-2 against Gateshead. That was the only game this season that the Cod Army have failed to see a home goal at Highbury.

Fact 2: Who'd bet on a draw at Highbury? The last one was a 1-1 draw against Alfreton way back in September 08. Andy Bell did the honours that day for Fleetwood.

One last piece of totally useless information. You may remember Nicky Ellis who we took on loan from Gainsborough a while back. The Gainsborough manager Steve Charles announced yesterday that defender Nicky Ellis (pictured below), striker Colin Marrison and right-sided player Gareth Davies will all be released at the end of the season. They are free to find other clubs. Looking to rebuild for next season, Charles has warned the rest of his squad that they are playing for their future contracts.
