I would say Murdale True Value is open. The owner usually keeps it open no matter what. They power it with a generator.

Just heard from Emergency Services in Saline County. Part of Carrier Mills gets its power from Harrisburg, and they are working on those lines right now and hope to have power back today. The other part of Carrier Mills gets its power from Crab Orchard, which got more damage from the storm so it may take longer to restore.

Everything is open in DuQuoin. The Shell on Main St. is out of gas and the casey's on the west side of town is down a pump. Walmart is CRAZY! and they are running low on water (could be out by now) All the restaurants are backed up. Lines with police directing traffic at the gas stations. Motomart is the worst because it is the first gas station in town. The ice houses in town are backed up too and walmart is out of coolers. I heard a guy say he was going to go to STL and buy coolers to sell for $30 lol. Also heard Pinckneyville is backed up too. I would suggest getting on the interstate and heading north that way because I have a feeling we are going to be out of gas and supplies soon...

LOUIS (AP) - Three people were killed today as storms withstrong winds, heavy rain and tornadoes rumbled across southernMissouri.The National Weather Service has confirmed at least twotornadoes in Greene County, where authorities reported that thestorm destroyed three homes and one business and damaged another298 homes, 29 businesses and 13 schools. Also destroyed was a firestation in Ebenezer.

In Dallas County, an EF-2 tornado lifted a couple in their 70sfrom their frame home and tossed them into a field. The man died ofa heart attack; his wife was taken to a Springfield hospital.Seven other people in the sparsely populated county also werehurt. Thirty-five homes in the county were destroyed and numerous others were damaged.The National Weather Service also has sent teams to Howell andWebster counties to investigate possible tornadoes.

Late last night, she received notification from SIU that graduation ceremonies have been moved to McAndrew Stadium since the Arena has no power. This info differs a bit from that posted above indicating that the ceremonies will proceed ONLY if power is restored.

for the love of god stop wasting time asking when will the power be on. there is NO ONE who can give a day or time for any city, town, county, street, or road as to when power will be restored. my husband is a lineman and left midnight thursday night right after hail storm and worked the next 25 hours then came home for 4 hours sleep and has worked all day. they are working as hard as they can but there is no switch to flip your power on...there are many variables to connecting power. one main problem is people out sightseeing or driving around and they have to stop progress working to get out of your way and let you through.
