Related to my last question, might the transfer agreement situation and the KHL shot across the bow add at least the slightest bit of credibility to the Malkin trade rumours in that if Shero isn't 100% sure that Geno would resist an offer to double his salary to play back home, isn't he better off getting something for his #2 asset? This is, after all, a player who ditched one pro contract to come over here in the first place.

I honestly believe that there are some teams out there who need a guy like Darryl Sydor to lead their young guys. You say he's slow, but he's more of a stay at home guy who can command a powerplay and won't make too many mistakes. He had to learn a new system of play in Pittsburgh. I think we can get a third rounder for him, especially from a team deep in the draft.
