During the game, be sure and head over to Stampede Blue and Arrowhead Pride and catch up with the "other game of note" today....
Sunday November 18, 2007 11:54
12:08
Oh no, it appears that the Station I ws going to watch the Game on has changed from Chargers/Jaguars to Raiders/Vikings.  Ugh
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:08
12:10
Looks like it's gonna be a radio game for me, too many Chiefs fans conquering the local watering hole.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:10
12:11
We've got Garrard making some nice passes, driving into Charger territory.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:11
12:13
Scobee converts a 48 yard field goal.  Where we would normally have gone for it on 4th down we're kicking monster field goals.  I hope this dosen't get rid of the 4th down gambles...
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:13
12:18
And Sproles gets buried at the 5 yard line.  Good special teams play.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:18
12:20
LT has 13 yards on the first Chargers drive.  Not a fantastic way to start.  But he get's stuffed on a 2nd and 7.  (Since I'm having to watch another game while listening to the Jags, Vinitari just missed another Field Goal)

Sunday November 18, 2007 12:20
12:22
Chargers stuffed, Punt, Dennis Northcutt with a long return, a fantastic 25 yard return.  That's his first "serious" punt return.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:22
12:24
Fred Taylor is starting to have a pretty good day, he's got 28 yards on 5 carries.  Just had a great 13 yard run on 1st down.  David Garrard is 2/5 for 23 yards.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:24
12:26
DDDRRREEEWWWWWWWWWW.  Jones-Drew gets a big 15 yard run for a First Down.  Jaguars are on the Chargers 20 yard line.  A touchdown here ratchets up the pressure on Rivers, which is exactly what we ought to do.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:26
12:26
(Colts/Chiefs): Jared Allen just stomped Manning.  Nothing makes me happier.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:26
12:29
Ugh, 3rd and Long.  It'd be pretty nice to convert this.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:29
12:31
Wow, 4th and half a yard.  We don't have to kick it.  We don't have to play conservative.  Just cause we can kick it dosen't mean we have to trot him out every time.  Ok, Jack called a Time Out.  This is exactly the situation when you put in your "Big" package, three TE's, Greg Jones, Jones-Drew, and get that half yard.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:31
12:32
(Note: I'm going to have a delay in posting things, simply because i'm listening to a web stream of a radio brodcast, so there is a pretty good delay.  I typically hear the start of a play just as the next one starts on TV.  So if I'm a 10-15 seconds behind, I apologize.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:32
12:33
Garrard goes for it.  Very close.  Measurement time.  Radio guys say we've got it by a very favorable spot. Half a ball length to be specific.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:33
12:34
Fred Taylor with a cutback run all the way to the 1 yard line.  9 yard line.  Fred needs a TD, I hope they leave him in.  Nope, Jones-Drew goes in.

(Vinitari just missed ANOTHER field goal)
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:34
12:35
3rd and Goal, Jones-Drew stuffed...barely.  Go for it on 4th down.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:35
12:36
TOUCHDOWN MAURICE JONES-DREW.  It took him 3 times, but he got that one yard.  Tim Dobbins got punked by MoJo.  What a statement drive.  10-0.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:36
12:37
11 plays, 48 yards, two 4th down conversions.  We're playing true "Jaguars Football", with physical plays, nothing fancy, and big balls....
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:37
12:41
Jacksonville has had problems covering the Tight End (see the Chiefs game).  So far, Gates has been a non factor, with only 7 yards.  On that last play Sammy Knight covered Gates perfectly.  I'd say he's gotten some practice in his career covering a fantastic tight end.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:41
12:43
First Quarter Stat to Remember: Chargers Time of Possession = 3:53
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:43
12:45
Rivers gets a 14 yard pass, Chargers 1st down right at Midfield...and then a False Start penalty.  1st and 15.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:45
12:45
Rivers overthrew Mike "The Burner" Turner, it's 2nd and 15.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:45
12:46
Derek Landri stops L.T. for a 2 yard game.  Landri is a smaller DT, but he's got good speed for covering fast backs. He's gonna have a good career.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:46
12:48
Norv Turner is forcing a review of a catch by Chris Chambers.  Radio guys say it's incomplete as he bobbled the ball going out of bounds.  It sounds like there is not enough visual evidence to overturn the ruling of an incomplete pass.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:48
12:49
(Colts/Chiefs): Manning just threw an Interception.  Manning's 8th interception in the last 3 games.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:49
12:52
Chargers get the call, Chambers regained control.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:52
12:54
Missed a few plays, it's 4th and goal on the Jaguars 5.  Chargers are going to kick.  Good defense in the red-zone by the Jaguars.  Kick is good, Jaguars up 10-3.  Time for another long grinding drive by the Jags!
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:54
12:55
(Colts/Chiefs): Manning gets sacked again.  The Colts are melting.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:55
12:57
Jones-Drew has a nice 26 yard kickoff return, our drive starts at the Jaguars 27 yard line.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:57
12:59
Manning has a 14.6 passer rating, just for the record.
Sunday November 18, 2007 12:59
1:01
3rd and 2.  Jones-Drew got stuffed hard.  That's a pretty rare thing.  Jaguars converted though.  Radio Guys are harping on the Tight Ends, saying they need to step up and be the stars to replace our Wide-Outs.  I completely agree.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:01
1:02
Jaguars get a 5 yard bonus with a bit of "hands to the face" by someone on the Chargers Secondary.  1st an 10.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:02
1:04
3rd and 7.  This drive is stalling a little bit.  Garrard in the Shotgun, Ernest Wilford makes a great catch, David makes a great throw.  Wilford is a conversion machine.  Perfect 16 yard play with the Chargers bringing a lot of heat.  Offensive line gets some bonus points for that one.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:04
1:06
REGGIE WILLIAMS- TOUCHDOWN!!!!  David is playing fantastic, Williams with a great play!!!!
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:06
1:07
That was a 36 yard touchdown pass, Chargers are focusing on the run, David is doing it with his arm.  He's 7 of 13, 91 yards and a TD.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:07
1:11
Ok, Chargers have the ball on their 19 yard line.  Jaguars are avoiding putting any real pressure on Rivers, instead focusing on the zones.  I'd like to see some funky blitzes though, confuse him a little more.  LT's been held to 8 carries, 43 yards, Gates 2 catches for 7 yards.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:11
1:12
3rd and 1 for the Chargers on the 45 yard line.  Let's see some big physical play here and stuff em!
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:12
1:12
Or not, LT makes it to the 48 yard line.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:12
1:14
Rashean Mathis is limping to the Goal Line, who's grabbing at his groin.  Uh oh. Scott Starks will take his place.  That's a painful injury, both for Rashean and the team.  Aaron Glenn is inactive today, glad we've got that depth on the shelf.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:14
1:15
Two Min warning.  Chargers have a 3rd and 7 situation on the Jaguars 45 yard line.  Jaguars continue to avoid putting any real pressure on Rivers.  This is a mistake.  Even when you're up by 14 points, you gotta bring some heat.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:15
1:17
Mathis is working his hamstring on the sideline, he's walking it off, as they say.  He gets plenty of time to figure out what's going on, as we probably won't see him again till the 2nd half.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:17
1:18
On third down Rivers threw incomplete.  4th and 7, punt crew comes on the field.  Northcutt's having a good day on the return game, lets see a good one....

Or not, we're on own 3 yard line.  Knuckleball punt, Dennis thought it would go into the end zone but it fell just short.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:18
1:21
Mathis has a muscle strain (quad?) He's questionable.  Best guess is that he'll stay out and avoid further injury.  You know, a good way to help cover up a "weakened" secondary would be to increase the pressure on Rivers.  Not to second guess our defensive selections, considering the score, but pressure would be good.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:21
1:22
Ugh, holing on George Wrightster, we're pinned on the 2.5 yard line.  Chargers have 3 timeouts, Jaguars 1.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:22
1:23
Pass to Wrightster for 8 yards, refs say he went out of bounds.  3rd and 2
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:23
1:25
Jones-Drew with 3 yards gets the first down.  Glad that Podlesh didn't have to try and punt it out of the end zone.  With that 9 yard run Fred Taylor is now officially the Jaguars all time leader in yards from scrimmage.  Congrads Fred!
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:25
1:26
Chargers defense has to feel terrible right now, I have a feeling that they're going to quit.  14-4 to this, how does it happen?
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:26
1:39
Halftime Notes: David Garrard is 8 of 14, 99 yards an a TD.  Taylor has 12 carries for 57 yards. That's 4.8 per carry.  Jones-Drew has 9 carries for 30 yards (but some critical 3rd and 4th down conversions, including a touchdown).  Reggie williams is our leaing receiver with 1 catch for 36 yards.  187 Total yards of offense for the Jaguars, 131 total yards for the Chargers.  LT has carries for 48 yards.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:39
1:42
Ok, Halftime is over.  Scobee makes a mistake and kicks the ball ot of bounds.  Chargers get the ball at the 40.  First pass is a 20 yard strike to Vincent Jackson right at Scott Starks.  Of course they'll attack him, this is why we have to attack Rivers.  Reggie Nelson is going to have to grow up really fast.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:42
1:42
[Comment From tiffany mooretiffany moore: ]
How are you getting the radio broadcast? is it on line?
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:42 tiffany moore
1:43
LT get's a big run, 34 yards.  2nd and goal on the Jaguars 7 yard line.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:43
1:45
LT Scores the TD.  Chargers filled the field with Tight Ends and caused just enough confusion for LT to get the score.  Jaguars still lead 17-10.  Not how we want to start the half, but it all comes back to that terrible kickoff.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:45
1:47
That is exactly the sort of drive that will keep the Chargers alive.  We can't allow that to happen.  The wind just came out of our sails.  One way to fix this would be a good long drive that ends in a TD.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:47
1:48
Jones-Drew gets hit hard, but the player (Polk, I think) knocked himself out.  MoJo is fine.  Jags start on their 25 yard line.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:48
1:51
Fred Taylor picks up 5, 2nd down and 5 to go.  Ball on the 30.  Fred's got 62 yards on the day.  Jags get a 10 yard holding penalty.  Yuck
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:51
1:54
Just tried it (just diddn't post it) that's very very cool stuff.  I'm gonna have to play with some of these features a bit, but damn.  Very good software.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:54
1:57
Ok, I'm back.  Had to talk a little software.  Chargers have the ball, 3rd and 10.  Going nowhere....untill Gates catches the ball on the Jags 46 yard line for a 23 yard gain.  Regular readers know I go crazy when we don't stop teams on 3rd down.  3rd and 10 is perfect defense.  Converting on 3rd and 10 is disgusting.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:57
1:59
Ok, Jaguars defense held on the next drive, Chargers punt.  We're gonna be pinned deep.
Sunday November 18, 2007 1:59
2:00
Eh, not so bad actually.  We're at the 13 yard line.  Better than the 2 I suppose.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:00
2:03
Dennis Northcutt wtih a great 22 yard reception, ball is ont he 37 yard line!
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:03
2:04
George Wrightster with a 36 yard catch and run.  Can you believe that David Garrard  missed a month of football?  Khalif Barnes punked Meriman!
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:04
2:05
HOLY CRAP! Reggie Wiliams, 26 yard pass.  David's thrown 90 yards in 3 plays!
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:05
2:06
TOUCHDOWN MARCADES LEWIS!  1 yard TD Reception by Lewis!  91 yards in 4 plays.  90 yards in 3 plays.  Maurice Jones-Drew made the TD saving block.  Garrard is 13 of 20, 188 yards, and 2 TD's
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:06
2:08
24-10.  The Chargers secondary was getting a lot of props going into this game.  All those props are now gone, after three consecutive 25 yard or more passes.  Of course, I could bitch that we left too much time on the clock, but I can't complain about a TD.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:08
2:09
Jones-Drew punked Meriman on that TD play.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:09
2:09
(watching other games): Chiefs/Colts are tied at 10, Baltimore is up over the Browns 14-13.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:09
2:10
3rd and 1 on the Charers 29 yard line.  Good time for a stuff.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:10
2:11
Neal is stuffed, Grady Jackson made the stuff.  He did his job.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:11
2:15
Jaguars go 3 an out, punt is almost blocked, Chargers have the ball.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:15
2:17
End of the 3rd quarter, Chargers have the ball on the jaguars 41 yard line.  3rd and 6.  Statement time
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:17
2:20
LT gets a few yards, but the Chargers are going for it on 4th and 2.  STOP THEM
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:20
2:21
Jaguars stopped the halfback pass.  Gates was coverered up, LT could not turn it upfield.  We got away with a late hit by Reggie Hayward.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:21
2:21
Jaguars have the ball on our 41 yard line.  Time to run the ball, a lot.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:21
2:23
Holding penalty on 2nd down.  2nd and 18 on our 31 yard line.  2nd and 18 gets us a 1 yard run by Fred Taylor.  Now we've got 3rd and 17.  This is not really eating clock, not by any stretch.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:23
2:25
Damn, David got away with some Grounding.  Mo Williams was too far downfield, so we've got to punt.  Ball is in the Defense's court right now.  Time for that big 3 an out.  Let's see some big time blitz pressure on Rivers....
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:25
2:26
Shit, that's 4 penalties in a row.  Illegial formation on the kick.  Chargers have the ball on the Jaguars 32 yard line.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:26
2:26
Scratch that, Chargers 32 yard line

Sunday November 18, 2007 2:26
2:29
2nd and 10, offensive holding, 2nd and 20.  Good so far, let's bring some heat.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:29
2:30
2nd and 20, LT get's 35 yards.  Great move by LT to get to the sideline, Reggie Nelson made a mistake in the tackle and let him get loose.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:30
2:31
2nd and 10 on the Jaguars 40 yard line.  Rivers might have just done some grounding of his own, but no flag.  Gotta keep them from scoring....
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:31
2:32
3rd and 11, last play was a terrible, terrible screen pass.  That screen would work better if we were bringing the heat.  But we're not.  Terry Cousin was the stud in sniffing out the screen.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:32
2:32
Chris Chambers get's hit with a "push off" Pass Interference penalty.  3rd and 20.  We have to stop this.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:32
2:34
REGGIE NELSON INTERCEPTION!!!!!  35 yard return.  That's his third interception of the season!  Rivers overthrew Gates, Nelson waited and made the catch.  Damn he is fast.  He's officially forgiven for missing the tackle on LT.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:34
2:36
Ok, we've got 2nd and 3.  David just ran for 7.  We were going to throw a pass.  Why?
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:36
2:37
3rd and 2.  Converting here would be huge.  We might be in 4 down territory, simply because it's so short.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:37
2:37
ugh, we got pushed backwards 5 yards. Punt.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:37
2:38
Ok, so I've been saying run run run, but considering that we always run at 3rd down, that might have been a good time for a play action pass.  Though Podlesh kicked a good punt that went out at the Chargers 10 yard line, so it's still good.  Let's get another interception.

Sunday November 18, 2007 2:38
2:39
If you can't see the game, the score is 24-10, Jaguars lead, with 7:03 left in the 4th quarter.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:39
2:41
On first down Rivers got to Chambers for a 20 yard gain.  Ball is on the 30 yard line
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:41
2:41
Jeff Lagaman is tearing into LT for his tendency to run out of bounds rather than taking a hit to get more yards.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:41
2:43
(Colts/Chiefs): It's 4th and 1 on the Chiefs 3 yard line.  Colts have the ball, game is tied 10/10.  It looks like the Colts are going for it.  Let's hope the Chiefs hold !
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:43
2:46
Reggie Nelson got nailed for a Head to Head hit...except it was with his shoulder.  Bad Call, bad call.  Terrible call.

And it led to a Gates touchdown.  What a terrible call, Reggie did nothing approaching a head to head hit.  Terrible, terrible terrible.  Jags still ahve the lead 24-17
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:46
2:48
Onside kick approaching....
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:48
2:48
Just kidding, no onside kick.  Jaguars need to score some points and put this game away.  That call, in a worst case, could cost us the game.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:48
2:51
Jags start the drive on their 23.  1st down Fred gets 5 yards, 2nd drive Fred gets 11.  He's 15 yards away from his first hundred yard game.  Clock is running....
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:51
2:53
3rd and 11, 2:29 left in the game.  Weird play call but at least the clock ran.  Till the timeout, that is.

Colts beat the Chiefs, barely.  Ugh.  Houston beat New Orleans, what a weird Saints team.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:53
2:53
Jaguars are punting, Chargers will have 2:20, one time out and the two min warning.  We've got a game.  This is where the defense shows what we're made of.

Sunday November 18, 2007 2:53
2:54
Bad 31 yard punt.  Chargers have the ball on the SD 35 yard line.
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:54
2:56
2 min warning, one time out for the chargers.  it's 2nd and 4 on the Chargers 31 yard line.

Sunday November 18, 2007 2:56
2:57
Rivers rusn for the first down....
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:57
2:57
Rivers throws incomplete to LT

Sunday November 18, 2007 2:57
2:58
2nd and 10 on the chargers 41 yard line.  Big Stop, Big Stop!
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:58
2:58
SAMMY KNIGHT INTERCEPTION!
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:58
2:58
GAME OVER!

Sunday November 18, 2007 2:58
2:59
I love it when teammates tackle eachother to stop a return!  That's perfect defense at the end of the game.  And the second game he's ended with an INT
Sunday November 18, 2007 2:59
3:00
They're reviewing the int?  Uh oh.  That might be overruled.

Sunday November 18, 2007 3:00
3:01
It "looks" like he got his hand underneith it after he lost it for a second.  This should stay.
Sunday November 18, 2007 3:01
3:02
Here we go.  Ruling Stands.  Jaguars win!
Sunday November 18, 2007 3:02
3:03
And by win, I mean...we eat 1:20 off the clock.  Chargers have 1 timeout.
Sunday November 18, 2007 3:03
3:03
LT did not get 10,000 yards.  We held him to 61 yards.
Sunday November 18, 2007 3:03
3:04
We own the AFC west

Sunday November 18, 2007 3:04
