It sure wouldn't hurt to add Brandon Webb on a minor league deal with some incentives. But the Rockies need to do more than that. They must still add to their pitching staff in my view. Otherwise you need to question the decision making in Denver. They still have time, and I hope for the sake of Rockies fans that they make some additions.

You'd need to have much more inside information than I do to try to answer this question comprehensively, so I'll just point to some telling numbers. Since the 1994 strike the Yankees have made playoff appearances in 17 of 18 seasons. Meanwhile, the Pirates haven't posted a single .500 record.
