Michael Zuidema:

Welcome back, friends. I'm adequately rested after the Detroit Red Wings' run to the Stanley Cup championship, and ready to riff on whatever is on the top of your mind.

Michael Zuidema:
Good question. I'll have to go with either the final minute in Game 5 (which led to the triple overtime classic) or the final two minutes of Game 6 (when the Wings held on to win the title). Both were the height of excitement and nearly caused me to have 72 simultaneous heart attacks.

I only like it because the Pistons desperately need someone who can score whenever he wants, a problem that has caused the team fits in the playoffs for the past few years. But if Detroit has to give up Prince, then I say no. Prince and Billups are the two to keep, outside of maybe some young guys.

I don't know about top-five, but he's still a Hall of Famer. You could argue he's the best player in the NBA right now (I'd go with LeBron, but that's because I'm the president of his fan club, apparently), still won three titles, MVP, and loads of years to win another title. Why change? Because they didnt win it all and wont win it with the team they have no matter who the coach is!

Michael Zuidema:
I too have thought about just blowing the Pistons up and starting over. Maybe just keeping Billups, Prince, Stuckey and Maxiell and trying to build around that. I don't think Dumars is ready to make that rash a decision, though.

I don't think it's that unrealistic. Both Carmelo and Camby have been rumored in deals for the past year or so. Maybe the Pistons need to give up a draft pick or other players, but that would provide the required shake up.

Michael Zuidema:
That would be a shakeup, that's for sure. But the Nuggets wouldn't get enough in return. I don't think Melo is going anywhere unless Denver is blown away by an offer. The Pistons don't have enough to make that kind of proposal.

Or the Pistons can get Lamar Odom after he blows the Finals for the Lakers.

The Pistons probably could get the whole Lakers bench at that point.

Any more thoughts on the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft? Rose or Beasley?

Beasley would be a good fit on the Pistons, that's for sure.

I agree 100 hundred percent. Hinrich or Duhon will make a fine backup; you trade the other one.

I think Rasheed and Chauncey should go. I like Chauncey, but i feel like his fire isn't their anymore. Rasheed helped us win a championship, but we can put up with his mental breakdown, especially in the playoffs. Unless Curry and Sheed have a great relationship, he has to go.

Billups' contract makes him almost impossible to move at this point. They'll have to wait for a few years of that deal to tick off.

Kobe? Garnett? LeBron? D-Wade? The Pistons just won't have the horses, me thinks.

By the way, Billups deal I think was five years for $60 million, or something like that. I also think this was the first year of that contract.
