I love Jakes game, duckman. His arm is a cannon and he is very athletic. He broke his leg and ankle in late November so is healing from that.

Who do you feel wins the starting QB for Oregon Mariota or Bennett me i'm hoping for Mariota. Also with Thomas going pro is Oregon looking to add one QB for this class or will Oregon just settle on the 4 QB's they have now thank you

Is oregon set with middle linebackers for the next few years. I know a true freshman played last yea, but shouldn't we see them going for more depth, or trying to load up like they have on the d-line?

[Comment From Ben from EugeneBen from Eugene: ]
I think that USC will always have a leg up on us in terms of recruiting, no matter what. What highschool kid doesn't want to live in SoCal and bask in the sun while playing at an incredibly prestigious university? However, it doesn't really matter. Who's won the Pac-12 for three consecutive years? Oh yeah, Oregon. Who's been in BCS bowls three years running? Oh yeah, Oregon. Keep it up USC, maybe one day those recruits will actually mean something! But for now, I'm more than happy with a great coach that gets kids who fit his system. Go ducks!

Between Lockie and Rodrigues, which has the best shot at being third string and making the travel squad behind Bennett? You know, if MM starts, then Bennett, then.....?

Yes Ike. The Ducks struggle to address size in DL recruiting so they make up for it at the training tables.

Ducks need to improve on size, its the only thing keeping up from beating SEC teams, i wouldve thought kelly and co. wouldve adressed the problem and recruited size

And, I'll give AJ the last word on this, too.

Lots are asking about potential NCAA sanctions, and wondering if Kelly leaves for the NFL, is that a signal that the NCAA has something in the pipeline. You're take?

They certainly are trying LODuck. Size at the DL has been an issue for as long as I have followed Oregon recruiting. Just not many of them around.

A.J.:
I know CK pretty well and the last thing he would do is "jump ship" because of impending sanctions. If he goes pro it will be because it is an un-refuseable offer in a great situation. He really likes it here and has his own stable kingdom.

Everybody is wondering what's up with the sanctions. My take is the NCAA will do something just because they made such a big deal of it. But it won't amount to anything hurtful.

The Oregonian:
While AJ mulls the last question, I'll jump in with the size/competing against the SEC/getting those big guys who are also considering SEC schools.

A lot of those guys just want to play near their families. Oregon seems far away, unfamiliar and it's just too hard for their folks to watch them play. It's a tough sell to convince someone from rural Louisiana or Georgia or even in those metro areas to live completely across the country. I'd say Kelly is making inroads, but it's an uphill battle.

Do you agree, AJ?
