Final score: Ohio State 77, Syracuse 70.

Donnie Webb will be joining us any second. I'm George Owens behind the P-S logo.

First impressions of the game, anyone?

So, who thinks there might be some type of nuclear explosion with Jim Boeheim's post-game press conference? He was barking at tournament director Jeff Hathaway during the game. Probably wasn't pleasant.

Syracuse outrebounded 37-22. I know you want to vent on the officials, but that's just pathetic.

Couldn't believe some of the touch calls which made it tough for su to drive to basket, but then, when they did, they missed some easy layups. Kris Joseph... not great senior leadership tonight.

What conference were these officials from? Are we sure they were NCAA officials at all and not some local Boston residents? They were terrible the whole game from both ends.

We had to no from this point on a night with terrible shooting coupled with bad rebounding would guaranty an end to the season. Teams at this point aren't here by accident. Not a good night for Dion to go "ghost mode".

Fouls killed syracuse. Couldn't play aggressive. 28 points for Ohio state from the line. The foul situation changed the game.

We will never know what this game would have been like with reasonable officiating - it really ruined what could have been a great game. Cuse did not play that well but showed a ton of heart...

Even with the loss of Melo, Syracuse had its opportunities. When Kris Joseph and Dion Waiters have games like that, there's no escaping defeat.

Syracuse missed three layups in the first half - one by Joseph and two by Dion (one in which he blew a dunk). Joseph dribbled the ball out of bounds twice on the baseline. Dion did it at the end of the game. Killer turnovers.

Officials were bad, but not why we lost game. Fab was missed sorely, but not why we lost game. Easy layups missed along with Kris' feeble attempts to go left toward baseline will be how I remember this one.

Melo owes the team an apology but I doubt we will ever hear from him again. Some of the worst officiating in the tournament so far; on both sides. We needed Joseph to step up and he looked lost.

This was a Final Four team that simply did not play well. Officiating changed the way the game was played, but had nothing to do with rough games from Joseph and Waiters. Syracuse not good enough to ovecome Ohio State when those two go 6-for-19. Joseph had 2 rebounds. Two? Man, that's just not good.
