I heard the Colt Brennan was starting for the South, and that he was also named team captain. I live in Hawaii, and was wondering what you Wolverines think about Brennan.

Well a good afternoon to everyone! The game's about to get underway here ... for those who weren't here for the Michigan-Illinois live blog, you can send in comments/questions, etc. - I have to approve them. I'll try to get as many of them up as possible.

Brennan had a stomach flu, lost 10 lbs. and is down to 185. But besides for a weak weigh-in, and lack of deep ball accuracy due to weigh-in, he has done pretty well during the week. Hopefully he does well.

Booty to Kansas State's Jordy Nelson on the sideline. Then Booty rolls out and hits Julius Crosslin from Oklahoma State.

Booty looks the best of the three QBs so far, and the North playcalling has him out of the pocket on every play so far.

Woodson looked solid so far, Rafael Little actually had a couple of nice runs and a decent punt return. I haven't heard Jacob Tamme or Wesley Woodyard called yet.

Saturday January 26, 2008 5:14
5:15
Little only had a couple of carries - there are five South RBs splitting carries fairly equally. He showed some quickness and hit the hole harder than I thought he could.

Hard to say who the best RB has been so far - maybe Choice from Georgia Tech.
Saturday January 26, 2008 5:15

None of them have been great, no. I think Forte and Choice have looked pretty solid. And Chauncey Washington ran well when they didn't stick him at FB. Other than that, nothing special.

Do you think its fair to have Matt Ryan as the #1? And is there anything that may change that?
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:41 drdreidel
6:41
Of course, Washington just dropped his third pass.
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:41
6:42
Scouts love Ryan - and they especially seem to love his moxie and leadership. The Dolphins certainly need a QB.
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:42

Nice run there by Justin Forsett. Word was that the Lions scouts were watching Forsett heavily early this week.

has martin Rucker from Mizzou done anything today? Has anybody heard where he might go in the draft?
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:42 andy
6:43
Rucker has two catches and a TD grab. He's not a first round guy, I don't believe, but he seems to have a good first day chance.

Matt Ryan didn't really show up for his biggest games. Why risk dropping in the draft? Seeing how these QB's have been doing in this game, Ryan made the right choice.

Booty with a nice connection there to Martin Rucker for a first down. 4 minutes left.
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:44
6:44
Ainge was 7-for-9 for 77 yards, he actually had one of the better days for QBs.
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:44
6:45
He didn't really do a lot down the field, but he threw the ball well.

From EA's stats, it looks like he had a solid game. I hope this wil put him closer to a first day draft pick

Hawkins is my guess for MVP. Rodgers-Cromoartie would be a close 2nd, in my opinion.

Mayock's top 5 QBs: Ryan, Henne, Brohm, Flacco, Woodson

Do you think Adams will get drafted?
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:47 Jamar

I think he's a lock to get drafted somewhere - he'll be a LB in the NFL, but he is quick and can hit.
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:48
6:48
Fourth down with 3 minutes left ... Forsett got buried short of the marker it looks like.
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:48

Would have been about a 35-yard attempt for Serna

How has Jordan Dizon looked? Projected round?
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:50 Guest
6:51

Dizon played well early on, but I haven't heard his name called much lately. He's definitely a second-day guy in my mind. He's really undersized and that will hurt a lot.

From what Ainge has shown today, what round can we see him being drafted?
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:51 UTter Domination
6:52
Ainge did look decent today. He still hasn't moved ahead of guys like Woodson or Flacco or Henne. Probably a second-day guy too, but someone will definitely take a shot on him.
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:52

Ainge is in now actually
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:52

South needs 86 yards ... wait 91 ... false start.

First down out to Tamme for about four

Saturday January 26, 2008 6:54

Has Ellis done enough this week to move past Dorsey, especially in light of the fact that Dorsey chose not to attend?
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:55 KiLBurn
6:55
Ainge is 8-for-11 for 81 yards for those that asked.
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:55
6:56
Dorsey is still the top DL in the draft. Some of these guys choose not to attend (like Dorsey and Matt Ryan) because they can't improve their draft status at all. Dorsey looks like a lock to go top 3. Plus he was hurt all year, so sitting out was a wise choice.

Ainge down the middle - great pass and catch Ainge to Donnie Avery to the North 44 yard line. No stoppage on first down. 47 seconds left, Ainge spikes it.
Saturday January 26, 2008 6:58

11-for-14 for 123 for Ainge. Definitely the MVP if the South scores.

Saturday January 26, 2008 7:04

Scheuning was OK - he did get a 15-yard chop block penalty earlier. The pass blocking on a whole was atrocious. Yvenson Bernard had an OK game - nothing spectacular. Serna missed a 19-yard FG.
