The Oregonian:
The big pregame news is that LaMarcus Aldridge WILL start tonight, after missing the past two games (and most of a third) with a sprained left ankle.

Felton remains the starting PG, though. So, the Blazers' starting 5 will be: Felton, Batum, Wallace, Aldridge and Camby.

Still wondering why start Felton..He has had his opportunity and someone else needs theirs.

kjironman1:
I agree he could still come off the bench and make an impact
Saturday February 18, 2012 6:27 kjironman1

Maybe it has to do with his comments about McMillan not having faith in him?

To much stress is on Felton to perform and some cool down time is warranted..From the bench...
Saturday February 18, 2012 6:27 tom
6:28
kjironman1:
He better take it as a challenge and do something
Saturday February 18, 2012 6:28 kjironman1
6:28
The Oregonian:
Some of this is conjecture, but: he's still the best point guard option on the roster. McMillan probably hasn't seen enough from Nolan Smith to warrant a start. And Jamal Crawford isn't a true point guard, and he's the main scoring option on the 2nd unit.

Crawford has improved at pg since the start of the season, but he's still not fantastic. Hopefully some meaningful minutes for Nolan Smith tonight will show us what he's capable of
Saturday February 18, 2012 6:29 Colleen
6:29
tom:
NSmith is a Duke man..That says a lot..He needs the bright lights to settle in and only time on the floor will do that...
Saturday February 18, 2012 6:29 tom
6:29
The Oregonian:
This starting 5, which played all of 1:55 against the Wizards, should be good. Lots of versatility. And it will be interesting to see how Batum does with Aldridge back in the lineup. Can he still get his opportunities and points?
Saturday February 18, 2012 6:29 The Oregonian

kjironman1:
As soon as Smith get some PT he will be real good

kjironman1:
Give him 10 games is what i say
Saturday February 18, 2012 6:30 kjironman1
6:31
Colleen:
I think it will mostly mean that we won't see as much of Batum going to the hoop and dunking as we do when he plays the 3
Saturday February 18, 2012 6:31 Colleen
6:31
The Oregonian:
Fair point about Nolan Smith. Problem is, it's kind of a catch-22. He needs to show enough ability and leadership in practice to earn the PT. But he might very well need the PT to gain more ability and leadership.
Saturday February 18, 2012 6:31 The Oregonian

kjironman1:
Let him have some bad games. God knows Felton has had his chance

I hope Batum does not become tmid with LMA back..He can get into that mental funk...Nate and LMA need to tell him to take the shot and be aggressive..Will be great to watch..or read ..
