SCL-CITA Conference: Leading the Logistics of Change

1:54
Lou Smyrlis -  Be sure to tune in to this space tomorrow and Wednesday as we report live from the SCL-CITA annual conference.

This year's conference will focus on change. While the economic recovery is upon us, many uncertainties remain and the volatility continues. The conference speakers will address how supply chains need to be positioned to deliver efficiency and profitability. The conference kicks off with back to back keynote presentations from Nari Viswanathan, vice president and principal analyst, supply chain management practices with Aberdeen Group and James Norrie, associate dean, administration, Ted Rogers School of Management, Ryerson University.

Nowhere is the uncertainty and volatility more pronounced than on the transportation side. Be sure to tune in Wednesday as I, along with CITA president Bob Ballantyne, chair the popular transportation track.

Julia Kuzeljevich, -  Key takeaways: the role of Chief Supply chain officer is fast becoming a reality.
A lowered workforce is another reality today-63 % of companies won’t hire in 2010.
But 38 % do indicate an increase in technology spend in 2010.
