Andy, I heard the city's main targets to replace Best were Rob Hulse from Derby and Jon Stead from Ipswich, Seeing that Derby turned down rumoured £4mill bids for Hulse I can't see that being too likely, but have you heard anything about these two? Both would fit the criteria of being proven in this league
10:04
Andy Turner -  I certainly think they fit the mould of the type of player Coleman is looking for. We know he is after proven and experienced strikers at this level and those two could well be on his list. I understand that he has four or five he has been looking at and it is all a question of who will let who go and for how much. Stead is an interesting one because David Healy has just joined Ipswich so maybe they are looking to get rid of one, although I think Priskin went in the window. But I think you are certainly on the right track with those two. Hulse is a decent player. If you recall he scored two against city at Pride Park this season.

I read on the BBC site that one of the targets may be James Vaughn from Everton, Derby are also interested apparently.
10:07
Andy Turner -  No, I checked that out last night and although I understand the club have looked at Vaughan, they are not pursuing him. I think he would cost a bit as well. He's an England Under-21 international but if you look at his games, he hasn't played a great deal which suggests he is a bit injury prone. What say you Smithers, you are a Toffee man.

Hi Andy, why do you think Coleman is so reticent to start Chris Hussey, when his substitute appearences have shown him to more than capable?
10:09
Smithers -  @Andy T. IMO, Vaughan has all the attributes to be a top, top striker.
However, his luck is injuries is wretched and this season, he looks like a player who has barely played over the last four years or so.
He's got pace, power and an eye for goal with Rooney-like enthusiasm to match. Knows where the goal is too.
He's a Premier League player no doubt but he needs time on the pitch again to kick-start his career.
10:10
Andy Turner -  We obviously don't see Hussey in training every day and reserve games and I genuinely think it is just a case that he is still a bit raw and Coleman wants to work with him a bit more. Maybe if there is little to play for towards the end of the season he will give him a few games. It is similar to the Gary Madine situation in that he was very much brought in as 'one for the future' and not to go straight into the team and make an impact. I am sure he will break through eventually.
