Welcome to our first chat. I'm getting some food and setting up the DVR to have some '09 SEC ball on in the background.

Feel free to start sending in questions and we'll officially start in about 20 mins.

I am very interested in attending some showcases but can not seem to find any. The only one I was going to was hampered by rain and cold weather. Where can I find some more? I am semi-retired.

Good place to start -- Bruce sent this in last night, I believe. Oh, and if you submitted prior to 1:30 today (like Bruce) feel free to re-submit.

Regarding showcases, there are lots of options. Here are event schedules (all over the country) for some of my favorites:

Showcases

Under Armour/Team One/Baseball Factory -

Area Code Games regional tryouts (posted here as they are set -

) are a solid place to see centralized talent, as well. Also, baseball organizations such as ABD in California (

) or East Cobb in Georgia (

) usually have tons of talent coming through. Have fun!

Have you given any thought to attending a showcase in the DR? Or is that widening your scope too far?

I'd love to make a trip down there, but because this is a side gig I'm limited in how much travel I can take on. As it is, I'm spread pretty thin.
