Hi all. Ready to talk hoops!!!

Commercial Appeal -  Hi Ron
3:01
Commercial Appeal -  Let's get the big question out of the way first. How will the waiving of Trey Gilder hurt this team?
3:02
[Comment From Ron Tillery]
LOL...He's the best wing runner they've had since Tarence Kinsey so what a blow. Seriously, he's a nice prospect that they would have loved to develop in the D-League. But there's no time for that now. They need immediate help at backup power forward and defensively...

Commercial Appeal -  Has Allen Iverson become a distraction, or is this going to blow over?

[Comment From Ron Tillery]
It was a distraction Monday at Sacramento. He said all of the wrong things. He was better last night at Golden State. It'll blow over unless they keep losing. That's when all hell usually breaks loose for teams, and you don't need A.I. for that.

Do you think is was a mistake to let Warrick go for nothing
3:06
[Comment From Ron Tillery]
Absolutely. Warrick is a good reserve player and an asset. He's a solid NBA scorer with experience, and let's face it: He wouldn't have been any worse defensively than the guys playing now. Heisley made a mistake with that one, especially since $3 million is not much to pay in today's NBA.

On the flip side...

If the Griz don't cut ties with Warrick, they can't do the Iverson deal. And most people wanted Iverson.

Ron, the Grizzlies have proved they can put up points, but it seems their opposition can put up more! Do they have a chance of winning many of these track meet games?
3:10
[Comment From Ron Tillery]
No. It's a dangerous way to play without real depth. The Griz only have 5 or 6 real scorers. There's too much of a drop-off on the second unit. Besides, basketball is played on both ends. Playing defense is paramount, especially at the end of games. They have a big-time problem with guys not putting out enough effort.

[Comment From Mark]
Any idea who the Grizzlies are going to be looking at to replace Gilder. Are there any veteran defenders in free agency we may be interested in?

[Comment From Ron Tillery]
Just posted a story on commercialappeal.com about the Grizzlies' interest in Chris Richard -- a 6-9 power forward out of Florida. The team is more interested in adding someone to play behind Randolph with Arthur out 4 months. Don't know it Richard is the answer but that's the direction they're going.

What happen in Denver’s game with Rudy and O.J? they got into an argument, do you know what happen and why ? .. Ever since that happen do you feel like things have changed … how is the moral now in the team?
3:15
[Comment From Ron Tillery]
The moral hasn't changed because there are no visible signs of friction in the locker room. The team is a bit demoralized because the players are starting to feel like they are validating all the naysayers. As for Denver, Mayo had it going offensively and yelled at Rudy to get back on defense. Rudy didn't like how O.J. came at him. Funny thing is, Mayo's been getting torched so I wonder if someone is yelling at him. In short: that incident has blown over.
