Pattie Hunt Sinacole -  November should be a relatively active time for job hunters.   There is time between now and late November where companies are recruiting and filling jobs.

Pattie Hunt Sinacole -  After Thanksgiving and into December, a job hunt can sometimes be a bit more frustrating.

Pattie Hunt Sinacole -  And in December, many employers are thinking "hmmm, why can't we wait until Jan 2010 to fill this position?"

when do you think the job market pick up? I've seen forecasts that the end of 2010 will see more jobs, but that does little for people who are unemployed now

Pattie Hunt Sinacole -  I think we are seeing a slow, steady pick up.   Last week, a friend landed a six figure job downtown after being on the street for months.

Pattie Hunt Sinacole -  It is very competitive out there.   Employers are demanding about the skills, background and work experience.

Pattie Hunt Sinacole -  None of my clients are opening their checkbooks up and saying "ok, let's hire 20% more."   However, they are looking at what it takes to achieve business results and putting the resources in place (resources are often the people).

Pattie Hunt Sinacole -  I think we will see another little uptick in hiring in 2010.   A few of my clients have admitted that they went too deep last fall with reducing staff.   Now, they are selectively hiring folks back or looking at new ways to get the job done.
