Football chat with David Climer

David Climer -  Can't a guy go to the South Carolina coast for a couple of days without everything going nuts? I watched Tennessee have not one but two field goals blocked in the fourth quarter. I checked in on Vanderbilt only to find that the Commodores still don't have an offense. And did anybody hear about the Titans quarterback situation? Strange times, indeed. Let's talk.
3:22
David Climer -  So you'll know, I just got back from Titans practice and interviews.

Observation No. 1: Jeff Fisher is doing a good job of selling this as "an organizational decision."

Observation No. 2: Kerry Collins is a class act.

Observation No. 3: For better or worse, this is Vince Young's job now.

What about QB coach Craig Johnson. Is he part of the problem or part of the solution?

David, do you see any changes in terms of play calling for VY?
3:27
David Climer -  About Coach Johnson: Craig's a solid coach. I don't perceive him as part of the problem.
3:28
David Climer -  Absolutely. Much more movement (bootlegs, rollouts) as well as a mini-version of the Wildcat.

So are you pulling the rest of your hair out knowing VY is now going to prove you and the rest of the Tennessean wrong and show he can lead this team better than KC?
3:28
David Climer -  I don't have to tug very hard. We'll see what happens. Collins played well last year but has not played well this year.

David, do think Jeff Fisher was inclined to make this move this week anyway, or was it strictly due to Bud's influence.
3:31
David Climer -  It was Bud's call. I think Fisher tried to talk him out of it. But when you're 0-6 and coming off a 59-0 embarrassment, it's hard to present your case if the owner's mind is made up.
