Football Friday Night Live

7:06
Joey Johnston -  Hello everyone. Welcome to Football Friday Night Live. We'll take your questions and give scoring updates for the next, um, several hours.
If you have been outside today, you know we seem to be living  on the surface of Mercury. It is HOT! I may need a water break from behind this keyboard.
Note to all prep players (and fans): Stay hydrated.
 Onward and upward.
Anybody got anything before we get closer to kickoff?
7:09
Joey Johnston -  Our first final: Carrollwood Day School 54, Winter Haven All Saints 0.
CDS ultra-player Darius Bing with five, count 'em, five touchdowns.
Anybody seen Darius Bing play? Is he college material?

Hey Joey. I'm at Sickles for the Gryphons win or its over district game against Boca Ciega. It feels like it's Sept. 9th out here, not Oct. 9th. The heat and humidity could be a problem tonight. Look for some cramping timeouts.

Joey Johnston -

We have a report, still unconfirmed, that Bono will give a shout-out to the winner of tonight's Tampa Bay Tech-Freedom game. His "people'' may be following the result  on this chat.

If any of the U2 folks are already on here, have a great concert, guys!

Joey Johnston -  Just a few programming notes:
We're glad to be back after an upbrupt pre-emption of last week's Football Friday Night Live.
 What happened last week?
 I was:
A). Sick.
B). Having technical difficulties, something akin to Bright House Catch 47 at the Plant-Armwood game.
 C). In Syracuse.

Believe it or not, the answer is C.
Syracuse, which some  have called the "Paris of North America,'' was  site of last  Saturday's USF-Syracuse football game. Afterward at the Carrier Dome, they played a prep game and let me tell you, the Tampa Bay area brand of football is much, much, much better.

I head The Edge was going to play the Star Spangled Banner at the Plant-Gaither game!

Joey Johnston -

Hadn't heard that, but the night is young.

yeah, new york football is terrible. The worst team in this state could compete for a championship in new york.

Joey Johnston -  There is the occasional stud player, but probably no powerhouse teams to compete on a national level, I'm guessing.
