Eagles fan chat #13

12:59
Delawareonline -  Good afternoon everybody. Hopefully the Phillies have helped you forget about the Eagles' loss in Oakland. Geoff Mosher joins us to answer your questions about the Birds, who are preparing to take on another struggling team, the Redskins on Monday night at FedEx Field. Fire away with your questions.
1:01
Geoff Mosher -  Hello, everyone
1:02
Delawareonline -  Geoff, how does an experienced NFL coach like Andy Reid find himself calling such a bad offensive game? It seems like he does this at least once a season.
1:03
Geoff Mosher -  here's some injury news: Jason Peters won't practice but he's expected to play Monday; Omar Gaither is likely out for the season with  a Lisfranc sprain in his foot that will require surgery; Kevin Curtis is seeking a second opinion on his knee; and Vic Abiamiri probably won't play against the Redskins.
1:03
Geoff Mosher -  Great question. I just spoke with some players in the locker room, privately. Many of them questioned the play-calling and were frustrated by the coaches' decision to abandon the run.
1:04
Geoff Mosher -  Reid and Mornhinweg are fortunate to a) have winning credentials and B) to have a great rapport with their players because if they didnt, the players would probably be more vocal to the media about their disappointment
1:05
Delawareonline -  Does Andy get distracted or something? It's like he doesn't realize what he's doing until the game is already lost or over.

Hey Geoff, this new L/B we got in the trade. Is he going to start Monday Night?
1:06
Geoff Mosher -  Make sure you include Mornhinweg, too. He's the one calling the plays. Brian Westbrook said he routinely approaches Mornhinweg on sideline to remind him that he's there, so not sure how he can forget.
1:07
Geoff Mosher -

Depends on how the offense comes out. If it looks like a running play, it could be Trotter. But Witherspoon will play the same role Gaither played.

1:08
Delawareonline -  Geoff, what are you hearing about how bad the Redskins' situation is? They've done everything but fire Zorn.

What happened to the Wild Cat, will we see more against the Redskins? Lets see Vick run with it.....

So who is in and whi is out on our O-line this week? Any talks about Runyan?
1:10
Geoff Mosher -

It's bad. They've opened the season with 6 straight games against winless opponents - a first in the NFL - and are just 2-4 against them.

1:10
Geoff Mosher -  Sherman Lewis will call the Redskins' offense on Monday. He's a good coach but he's been out of football since '05. That's amazing.
1:11
Geoff Mosher -  Sean, my theory is that Reid was shelving the wildcat against two non-division opponents and figured he could beat Oakland without it. Oops!
1:12
Geoff Mosher -  Rem, Winston Justice actually played good enough vs. Oakland. It wasn't his fault. So no Jon Runyan calls yet. Line for Monday is LT - Jason Peters, LG - Nick Cole/Todd Herremans rotation, C - Jamaal Jackson, RG - Max Jean-Gilles/Shawn Andrews rotation, RT - Justice

Why has Desean Jackson been a non-factor the last couple weeks? Good Coverage?
1:12
Geoff Mosher -

Don't be surprised if Andrews starts at RG and plays most snaps

Really Shawn Andrew or Stacy?
