Philly.com -

Well, this should be fun today. Fire away, and I'll get to as many questions as possible. As usual, please only send your question once. If I skip it or can't get to it, check out my column tomorrow. I'll answer more questions there.

[Comment From Ted]
Why isn't anyone writing about how poor the defense played on Sunday? No turnovers and a 66 yard drive allowed in the last 7 minutes. Enough hearing about the field goals, the D lost that game for them.
12:02
Philly.com -  Hi Ted. I hear you on the D. They've gotten overshadowed by the offense's problems, and in particular Brian Westbrook's concussion. But you're right. They didn't help out enough. I think that was to be expected, though, with the shuffling the Eagles did at linebacker and the holes in the secondary with Hobbs and Hanson out.

Hey Ashley, (this is my favorite part of Tuesday, by the way) one of the guys on ESPN last night referred to the Eagles as "a team on the brink." Given what we know about how they play late in the season, is that premature? Or do you think it's time to start worrying?
12:04
Philly.com -

Hi Lauren. Glad you enjoy the chat. I missed that "on the brink" comment last night, but I think the Eagles are at a pivotal part of their season. Yes, they typically play better in November and December, but they've got critical issues (Westbrook, the o-line, the LBs). They've got to get them straight, and soon, or they'll miss the playoffs. And their schedule is a killer, too.

[Comment From Wayne Jackson]
Ashley, because of all the injuries to the defense, can we say the Eagles season is basically over?
12:05
Philly.com -  Oh no, not yet. But it's a critical time. Over? Nope. Not over.

What's your take on Westbrook's situation? Shut him down for the year? Is this the end of his career?
12:07
Philly.com -  Well, Bob, I'm not privy to all the medical info about Westbrook, but it certainly isn't good for Westbrook to have two concussions so close together. From what players have told me, after you have one, it takes less and less to cause another. Maybe you fall on your elbow, and that triggers something. Or maybe you just fall. I'm concerned for Westbrook's long-term health. For that, I'd shut him down.
