Phoenix Suns chat with Paul Coro

12:56
Paul Coro -  R U ORNG? R U PRPL? If either or neither, fire away your questions and curiousities on the Suns and I'll get to what I can during the hour of live chat. What I don't answer now, I'll follow up on in the next blog entry. The Suns stayed overnight in Orlando (with some hanging out at Grant Hill's palace, according to Jared Dudley's tweet) and flew into Boston today. After a back-to-back, Alvin Gentry is giving them the day off before they face, gulp, the Celtics on Friday night.

You think Dragic should get more playing time? And what happened to Earl Clark?
1:04
Paul Coro -  Dragic has just begun to play consistently well, shooting confidently, making the right passes and mixing in some defensive pressure. I think the Suns would be pleased with that for a while before anything more. Nash is going to play 30-something regularly and any extra time at the 2 is wiped out once Barbosa returns to backing up Richardson. As far as Clark, his PT was never guaranteed. Dragic was overbilled last year and that set up the fans' disappointment when he couldn't lock down the backup job. Clark will be brought along carefully but used for his 'D' with hopes that his shot improves.

What are the chances that the Suns make a major trade before the deadline? Possibly a J-Rich trade?
1:07
Paul Coro -  Considering Jason Richardson's salary numbers ($13.3M this season and $14.4M next season) in relation to his impact, it is plausible that the Suns would look for a deal involving him. That's especially true when getting Leandro Barbosa big minutes becomes problematic with Richardson starting. However, those same dollar numbers are going to be a reason that teams won't be falling over each other to get to him. There's still three months of ball before the trade deadline. How the team is going will greatly affect trade decisions, whether it be Richardson, Stoudemire or anybody. The staff likes the chemistry.

When Robin comes back, do you think they'll release Collins ?

Will the Suns keep Collins on the roster after Lopez comes back? He seems to provide a nice piece of insurance against the bigger fives and foul trouble
1:10
Paul Coro -  Jarron Collins would be a great player to keep. Once again, money would be the reason for him not to stay. Collins would be a great big man option for the Suns. Even more, he would be a great influence to have around Robin Lopez, who he already has known for a long time. Collins made a difference in that Miami rally the other night and frustrated Dwight Howard into his third foul in the second quarter last night. His offense isn't a perfect fit but he gives the Suns the other stuff they don't have. It's hard to see them carrying 14 and the only other player who is not fully guaranteed is Taylor Griffin.
