Ginny Light, Assistant Travel Editor, Times Online -  I'll start - I'm off to New York for the first time later this month, I want to go somewhere for great views of the city - which is best - the Statue of Liberty, Top of the Rock or Empire State building - or is there another good high point?

What is a good hotel / apartment website for a young couple with a limited budget wanting to visit NYC next September

Lisa Ritchie -  ~It's `chris here~:   i highly recommend top of the rock during the day for spectacular views of central park.   you can also see the empire state building on one side. for statue of liberty views, go to battery park city or take a circle line sightseeing cruise, ginny`!

The new High Line sounds amazing - is it all it's cracked up to be? When will it be fully opened?

Lisa Ritchie -  `hi `nickyc - chris again - sharing w/ lisa here`;   yes, the new `high line park is truly spectacular.   lovely elevated railway converted into a 'garden in the sky' - you can view the statue of liberty and the empire state building along it as well as the hudson river. make sure to include this in your itinerary`!

Ginny Light, Assistant Travel Editor, Times Online -  NickYC - I'll let our experts advise on that - but here's a good article from our site about the High Line to get you started

Sean O'Neill (BudgetTravel.com) -  Hi Shaggy,
For truly budget, airbnb.com offers places to stay in the spare rooms of people's apartments. You book online with a credit card, and you receive a code. The owners of the apartment don't get the money until you meet them in person and enter the code together at a website.
Eurocheapo.com has hotels in NYC, despite its name. And I'd be remiss not to point out that BudgetTravel.com has listings for hotels in the $100 to $225 a night.. Have a great trip!

Top of the Rock - you get to see Central Park - and the Empire State Building for that matter

[Comment From Craig, Manchester]
My friend who lives in Dumbo, Brooklyn recommends the Brooklyn Museum Rock & Roll Photographic History which i would like to see also on my first visit to New York later this month.
