An Evening of PLANET HULK - Los Angeles

8:02
Welcome to “An Evening of Planet Hulk” – Los Angeles, co-sponsored by your online hosts for this evening, Newsarama.com and New York Comic Con.

For we get started we also have to thank Lionsgate Home Entertainment, and Marvel Animation, whose release of Planet Hulk on Blu-ray and DVD Feb. 2 is a big part of what this evening is about, as well as the Paley Center for Media, the host of tonight’s event.
8:03
The exclusive first west coast screening of Planet Hulk is just wrapping up, then we’ll have a full live report over the next 45 minutes or so from the interactive panel that follows.

The panel, moderated by Blair Butler, host of the “Fresh Ink” comic book segment on G4’s Attack of the Show, will focus on focusing on the production of the highly-anticipated animated film.

8:03
The panelists are Emmy Award-nominated and Eisner Award-winning writer Jeph Loeb (current writer of Marvel’s “Hulk” series, who will be there to answer questions about the comics), Planet Hulk screenwriter Greg Johnson, actor Rick D. Wasserman (voice of the “Hulk”), and Planet Hulk Supervising Director Frank Paur and Supervising Producer Josh Fine

We’re going to accept questions from our online audience, and we hope to have a few answered during the course of the evening. So please type in your questions for about Planet Hulk and maybe yours will be answered.
8:04
The panel is set to begin in a few moments, until then you can view the exclusive online premiere of the first clip from, Planet Hulk, which debuted earlier this evening during the New York event. The clip will begin uploading in a QuickTime player at the beginning of this report (above).
8:04
If you want to read the report from the New York Planet Hulk panel, hopefully you can do that on whatever website you’re reading this coverage from, or by clicking here.
8:05
stay tuned for the start of the panel
8:06
The panel is starting and Brett Butler kicks it off by asking Josh Fine about using Beta Ray Bill instead of Silver Surfer who was in the comic.
8:06
Fine says it was about creating a cohesive story and Bill fit in well since they had an opportunity to include him earlly in the story and set him up.
8:07
Butler next asks about keeping a key sequence at the end (spoiler!) in which a child is incinerated.
8:07
Johnson says it was too emotional to not keep in.
