Live Ravens chat with Ken Murray

8:35
Baltimore Sun Sports -  Ken Murray will join the live chat at 1 p.m. Monday. You can begin submitting questions now.

Ken Murray -  If you're emailing questions, you all saw the futile performance, the lackluster effort, the inability to stay on the field (offense) and the inability to get off the field (defense). This should be interesting. Let's hear it.

[Comment From Time to Panic?]
Why do the Bengals have so much success shutting down the Ravens offense?
1:01
Ken Murray -  Primarily, they are more physical than the Ravens right now, Panic. They're taking it to the Ravens. They have come up with some terrific schemes to keep the Ravens guessing, and they have been able to cover the wide-outs all the way down the field. Unlike the previous Bengals defense, this one plays smart and disciplined. Sort of like Marvin's old Ravens defenses used to.

Could the Ravens possibly pull a page out of the Orioles playbook and trade a player like terrell suggs for draft picks or young talent in the offseason? Will next season possibly be a rebuilding season?
1:03
Ken Murray -  First of all, Kevin, John Harbaugh will never call it a rebuilding season. He didn't last year when everyone else did, and he turned out to be right. I think this is the bump in the road. There are some hard decisions that will have to be made in the offseason, but moving Suggs won't be one of them, in my opinion. So much depends on how the CBA negotiations work out, but there's a cap hit to consider, and there is Suggs' replacement. Not sure Mr. Kruger is ready for that, since he has barely seen the field.

Why is discipline now a problem?? The change of culture between Billick and Harbaugh was supposed to be the latter's ability to command and correct his team...the penalties are mounting with ne end in sight...what can they do now?
1:06
Ken Murray -  There's a fine line between being real aggressive and being undisciplined. The Ravens seem to cross it quite often this season, Chas.I don't believe they are undisciplined in their attitude, I think they get in trouble when they think they can make a play they can't -- or don't make. Remember, officiating is really and truly poor this season. These pass interference calls are borderline in most cases, but adhere to the letter of the law. That means the Ravens will have to adjust. And they haven't shown the ability to do that yet.

[Comment From Charles]
Do you think Todd Heap will be back with the Ravens next year? He doesn't seem like he'll get back to his Pro Bowl form. Even if he hasn't missed any games this year, it feels like they should be looking to draft a young stud at TE.
1:08
Ken Murray -  That's an interesting point, Charles. I could see him leaving, and I could see him staying. Todd is still a good pass-catching tight end; maybe not the playmaker he was, but he's still better than a lot of tight ends. It depends on what their offseason draft priority is. Do they go get a tight end, or go get the defensive help they so desperately need? I say he stays. They can't fill all the holes overnight. And yes, there are a lot of holes.
