Hello, everyone.
9:00
After a good night of soccer last night at the SCT semis and the release of the state tournament brackets, there should be plenty to talk about for the next hour or so.
9:01
The biggest surprise to me in the NJSIAA Tournament brackets is in CJ IV, where unless Marlboro wins a play-in game, there will be no Shore v. Shore matchups in the first round.
9:01
In a section loaded with teams from Class A North and Class A South, the Shore's two best divisions, I didn't expect that.
9:02
The coaches aren't upset with that, though, as almost everyone you speak to prefers to play teams from outside of the area, especially in the first game or two.

what do you think of twps chances

Freehold Township, I assume?

yes
9:05

I think they landed on the tougher side of the bracket with Jackson Memorial, East Brunswick and Brick Memorial.

9:06

They're good enough to make a run, sure, but I don't think you'd be too confident in them making a run to the final right now through that kind of competition given their inconsistencies at times.

9:06
I'm going to be doing some more research on the out-of-area teams over the weekend.

that's fair to say

colts neck?
9:07

I know Colts Neck's happy to be on the opposite side of Brick Memorial, but potential games with Class A North opponents to open the tournament didn't put any smiles on Doug Phillips' face.

9:07
They beat Point Boro, 4-1, today and played very well, Phillips said. Haden hat trick. So the team rebounded nicely from the Wall loss in the SCT.

think there fans were happy? cn fans i am speaking of
9:09
I don't know. It's not really my position to say, and I don't want to get involved with that. I think it's silly that there seems to be so much discontent on one sideline when the players and coaches on the other have had so much success.
9:09
Let's leave it at that.
9:09
Back on the field, a potential Colts Neck-TRN semifinal in CJ IV looks like a fun game.
9:10
And you could get TRN-Jackson Memorial for the third time this season in the final.
