Current Braylon Edwards situation, just 2 sides playing hardball or something else going on? How do you see things playing out?
2:13
No, we will not. Not if you want to see a mock draft tomorrow ... and not if you want to see our moderator get through the afternoon.

Are you buying all this talk that the Braylon Edwards deal is dead? At the end of the day is Reese really going to pass on filling the biggest hole on a potential Super Bowl team with a proven no. 1 WR?
2:14
Yes, I think both sides are playing hardball to a certain extent - certainly the Giants. It's in both teams' best interests to let this one go for a bit and then see if they can't work something out closer to the draft - or even when the Browns are on the clock.

Jon, I think the talks are dead ... for now. But all it takes is one phone call - or for one team to blink.

[Comment From Hal]
Bob, thanks for setting up a chat before the draft. So what's a Giant fan to make of the posturing about trading for Edwards or Boldin? I mean these guys are certainly worthy of trading a #1, especially one so late in the round - what gives? Reese is a smart GM, so I would think when push comes to shove, he'll do it. Also given the choice between the two WR's, who do you see as a better player/fit for the Giants? Thanks again!
2:16
Hal, let me get to your second question first. I believe that in the Giants' case, Edwards is the better choice. He's younger, he's faster, and he plays the same kind of role (on the field, anyway) that Burress played. He has phenomenal speed and can really stretch the field, which is what the Giants need. I take nothing away from Boldin, who is as tough as they come and has good, but not overwhelming, speed.

I think Reese is being smart here. No need to overpay if he doesn't have to. While I think it's in the Giants' best interests to get Edwards, it shouldn't have to come at the expense of multiple high picks. Reese is proper to resist for now.

The Gaints have broken up trade talks with the Browns for Braylon Edwards. The Browns apparently wanted Mathias Kiwanuka and the Giants 1st roun pick this year, and the Gaints rejected the offer. Does that means the Gaints will now draft a wide receiver in the 1st round or will still be able to make a deal for Edwards?
2:18
Dennis, I think there is still a chance for a deal to happen, no question. You know how these things go. But I am convinced - and have been for weeks - that Kiwanuka will not be a part of any deal. As one person in the Giants' organization told me, "Why should we collect a great group of defensive linemen and then start giving them away?"

If there is no deal, I do believe they'll wind up with a receiver. I'm sticking with Hakeem Nicks in my mock draft, which will run in tomorrow's newspaper and online.

A lot of rumors have the Jets trading into the top 10 to get USC QB Mark Sanchez. The Redskins also interested in Sanchez. If the Jets are interested in Sanchez, what do they have to give up to move up to get Sanchez?

[Comment From Brian Bassett]
Hey Bob! Which if any rumors of the Jets rumors about chasing QBs (Quinn, Campbell & Sanchez) are most compelling?

[Comment From Bill]
Do you think the Jets will make a deal to move up to draft Sanchez, or would they be wise to try to sign a veteran to hold them over for a year or two so they can draft their quarterback of the future next year when it seems the quarterbacks available will be stronger? (i.e. Bradford, McCoy, Tebow, etc.)

[Comment From Matt in Virginia]
What are your thoughts on Jason Campbell to the Jets?
2:20
At the end of the day, I don't believe the Jets will trade up to get Sanchez. That's part gut feeling, part knowledge, and then some more gut feeling. I would not dismiss it out of hand, but I think they feel there are enough options at 17 ... or a few spots either way, if they'd like to move up or down. It could take a move up to No. 4, and I just don't know if Mike T. will go that high.

Quinn to the Jets would surprise me, but again, anything's possible.

I do not believe the Jets will be trading for Jason Campbell. The Redskins don't want him. He's in the final year of his contract, and he has not shown the kind of big-time play you'd expect out of a first-round talent.

Thank you for covering the draft so I don't have to.

bob,i really think the giants will draft someone who HAS NOT been mentioned for their first round pick,it always works out that way. do you concur?

Neil Best:
You're welcome. I know you miss it. You can admit it.

draftmaven:
Hey, anything's possible. I had them taking Laurinaitis in my first mock, and I haven't seen his name tossed about much.

Hey Mr. Glauber, are the Browns pricing themselves out of an Edwards deal. The Pats just traded a pro-bowl QB for a 2nd rounder and QB's are valued way more than wide outs a 2nd and a 5th or a 4th would be a fair deal
