We are currently in the process of removing 21 residential unsafe buildings in Richmond.

This is a process that takes about 9 months from start to finish for example

The properties are chosen due to their unsafe conditions and due to the fact that they qualify as unsafe structures per state code...

We issue violation notices, photograph the structures and give the owners time to reply...

If improvements are not made, we move forward with the creation of an usafe building "order" that demands that the unsafe structure be removed or repaired. The owner is notified of a public hearing regarding the order to remove or repair the structure...
