South Haven
South Haven City Council members Kandice Voigt and Norm Bodeker held off challenges from Brenda Nicka and Lonny Bach. Voigt received 42 votes and Bodeker had 27 to win four-year terms. Nicka received 24 votes while Bach received 16.
Mayor John Lemke ran unopposed, winning reelection with 47 votes. There were six write-in votes for mayor, including one for City Council member Kandice Voigt.
Election rules are set to change in South Haven. The City Council amended an ordinance in September that would move its municipal elections to even-numbered years. Terms will be extended for one year to accommodate the move if it weathers a six-month public challenge period and other legal processes before it takes effect, Administrative Clerk Carol Banken said.

St. Paul Mayor
St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman has breezed to a second term, just weeks after ruling out a run for governor by saying he wanted to focus on his duties at City Hall.
Coleman, a Democrat, outpolled GOP businesswoman Eva Ng with 68 percent of the vote in unofficial results with 100 percent of precincts reporting. Ng had 26 percent.
Ng had criticized Coleman for rising property taxes. But Coleman said successes in business development and his approach to balancing the city budget were reasons he should get another term.
Voters were also asked whether they wanted to approve instant-runoff voting in future St. Paul municipal races, but that was too close to call. With almost 78 percent of precincts reporting, about 53 percent of voters favored instant-runoff, with 47 percent opposed.
