Texans live chat

11:26
ChronicleSports -  Welcome to today's live chat. John McClain is standing by to take your questions.
11:28
John McClain -  Gang, a couple of things: First, thanks for wating two days. Second, in my Friday blog, I'm going to tell you about the scene I shot and the lines I had at Keeneland Race Track in Lexington. My scene was with Diane Lane and John Malcovich, among others. Also, I have to leave right at 12:30 to get to practice. Thanks for being understanding.

If the Teaxans lose to Oakland....is the head and and general managers jobs safe?
11:28
John McClain -  There is no way either will be fired after the Oakland game.

John,Thanks for the chats. My memory isn’t good that far back, but after moving from 4 to 5 to 7 wins from 2002-2004, wasn’t there an expectation of a “breakthrough” (i.e., winning) season in 2005. As I recall, things got off to an ugly start and then just went out of control to the 2-14 debacle. If Texans give it up against Oakland, what are odds of a similar death spiral? Also, will Robert Griffin be able to get a medical redshirt?
11:29
John McClain -  Griffin won't get a medical redshirt. They went from 7-9 to 2-14. I covered the 2-14 team. I see no similarities. Geez, the Texans are one game behind where we all thought they'd be after three games.

Good morning, General! Do you think our defense can turn this thing around?
11:29
John McClain -  It can't get any worse. The 2006 defense started the worst by far over the first three games and went like 12th over the last 12 or so.

Any available help out there at defensive tackle? Any? I think that the problem isn't going to go away.
11:30
John McClain -  Defensive tackle isn't the problem. The secondary has been the reason for the long runs.
