PSU football chat 9/28

Can't wait to hear what everyone is most fired up about this week. Bring on the Penn State questions ...

Thoughts on the losing streaks to Carr at UM and Ferentz at IA? Shocking, really.
8:06
Penn State is getting outcoached many of those times. In big games, the Penn State offense usually pulls in and tries to win conservative, forcing the opponent to make the game-breaking mistakes. Iowa and Michigan are usually pretty good at not letting that happen...

Have you ever seen worse special teams at Penn State than it '09 squad?
8:10
Wow. Tough question, Lionhearted. That would take some analysis. But '04 is sticking with us, mainly because of Calvin Lowry returning punts and Robbie Gould going into a kicking funk. Can't remember much of a kickoff return game then, either.

Granted PSU had alot of mistakes Sat night in the 2nd half but Paterno doesn't get a free pass either ... typical Paterno "Sphincter Tite" Vanilla Game Plan virtually closing the Play Book ... When will this guy learn? ... When you have a team down step on their throats ... We've seen this same type Offensive performance over and over and over again in the big games ... Very Frustrating !!!!
8:13
Sure it's frustrating. Last year Penn State got away with it at Ohio State. And while I don't like the approach, at least I understand a bit of the thinking considering the weather. That said, that plan means you can't make mistakes.  And we saw what happened.
8:16
Can't believe this ... No Hawkeye fans coming back on.
You do have to hand it to Kirk Ferentz for making Penn State play his game after the second series.

Do you keep your thumb on the pulse of PSU recruiting at all?
8:19
Hate to admit that I kind of love recruiting... And at least Penn State's building a REALLY good class for 2010.
