8:00
WRALeditor -  Greg is logging in. We'll begin momentarily.

[Comment From Jordan]
Do you see the line dropping more toward the North for Raleigh and Sanford and Fay to get a good amount?
8:00
[Comment From george from clayton]
greg..when does the new info come out on the possible exact track is it 10;00?
8:01
Greg -  From a snow lover's perspective, I would be very worried that Sanford and Fayetteville may be very disappointed.

[Comment From Jeannie]
How close is the snow now?
8:03
Greg -  At this point, models become less and less important, and looking at real time observatrions becomes more and more important. Sometimes as an event is evolving, models do a terrible job!
8:03
Greg -  Snow has reached Durham

8:03
[Comment From Derrick A.]
Are any of the models take the heavier snow futhur south than before
8:03
[Comment From Alex]
Greg, what is the current thinking of where the low will end up; just south of Raleigh or a little to the North?
8:05
Greg -  Nothing appears different now than it did during our newscasts. One thing I am eagerly awaiting is all the new radiosonde data to tell us what's going on in the upper atmosphere.

[Comment From Allen Richards]
Hey Mr. Fishel, What are the chances that Wake County will close schools and is the Wendell area likely to see 2-4 inches?
8:06
Greg -  I never try to guess what school administrators will do-they have many factors to consider, only one of which is the actual weather. I'm simply not ready to commit on specific amounts in any given town due to the very tight gradient of amounts we are likely to see.

[Comment From Tward]
Durham is already getting snow

[Comment From Chris]
Anything going to happen in Carrboro/Chapel Hill
8:07
[Comment From Ed]
Just had a few flakes in Carrboro
8:08
Greg -  Chapel Hill is in our 1-3 inch range currently, but again, very slight changes in the track of the upper level system will have a huge impact on eventual amounts.

[Comment From Jeff Ford]
Hi Greg - I was watching forecasts this morning, and don't recall seeing anything regarding this - was this a "late breaking development", or did something change track?
8:09
Greg -  We have had snow in the forecast for tonight since Sunday, so I'm not sure what you are referring to.

[Comment From Tommy]
My mother always said that when show starts to fall and it's very fine that it's going to snow for awhile. Is this just an old wives tale or is any truth to it?
8:10
Greg -  There can be some truth to that. If the flakes are big and fat, it is many times a sign that the snow is about to change to rain. A dry snow means you are deep into the cold air, and likely to stay snow.
