Baseball: LSU vs. Texas

5:20
OMAHA, Neb. — Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the final game of the college baseball season.

I'm Andy Schwehm, baseball beat writer for the Reveille, and I will provide your entertainment for the night.

I'll have the lineups to y'all in a bit, but for now know this: Ochinko is back in the lineup and will be batting cleanup. Gibbs has moved down to the seven hole.

If you have any questions, let me know.

The weather is back to being hot here. Although it is not as hot as game one, it is still pretty warm. The sun is shining after a mostly overcast morning and early afternoon, so that is good news to those (me) who have to drive all the way back to Baton Rouge tonight.

Texas is taking their ground balls in the infield right now, and LSU is warming in the outfield.

While they do that, here are the lineups:

The obvious change to the lineup is having Ochinko back in the lineup instead of Landry. Ochinko will take over the cleanup spot and Gibbs will move down to the seven hole.

The grounds crew is raking the field and getting it all ready as Ranaudo warms to get his third start here in Omaha.

Well, it looks as though there is going to be beautiful weather tonight. The wind is all but dead. Every once in a while it kicks a bit to left field, but it can't be more than 5 or so mph.

The six man umpire crew is in black shirts again and the crowd is starting to fill in, although it is fairly empty here. The upper deck of right field barely has more than 50 people in it.

There may end up being only 15,000 here tonight.

You're driving all the way home tonight? I hope you're not by yourself...
5:57
Nah, I have someone else with me. We are going to take turns driving.
5:57
Thankfully.

I'd say the ratio of LSU fans to UT fans is about 10:1. The Tiger faithful are in full force.
