Devra First
- Hi folks. Talk to me. Restaurant Week? Anyone been? Any reports? I'd love to hear your experiences.

I am happy to say that Needham is quickly becoming a dining destination. In that regard, have you heard anything about what restaurant will replace Quince? I heard that Pomodoro may be coming in. Thanks.

Devra First
- It's great for Needham -- somehow the opening of Petit Robert signaled a turning point in the dining scene. That said, I don't know about Quince but will try to look into it. What are your favorite Needham restaurants currently, Derek?

Hi Devra Went to the Hungrey Mother last week. Your thoughts? Thanks baileythecat
11:03
Devra First
- I really like Hungry Mother, though I haven't been in a few months. Here's a
link
to my review from when it first opened. I think they hit it out of the park with a combination of good food, good value, and good hospitality. How was your experience?

I subscribe to both a veggie and meat CSA and was really interested in your piece last week about a seafood version of a CSA. Any more information on this front? Several people I've spoken with are also interested. Thanks.
11:04
Devra First
- I'm also really interested! Here's the
link
to the story if you missed it.

Devra First
- It works just like CSAs do, but with seafood rather than produce. You buy a share from the fishermen, and each week you get a certain amount of whatever they catch.
11:06
Devra First
- I don't have any updates, though they're keeping me posted. If you go to
namanet.org
you'll find e-mail contact info for people there, who would likely be your best source for immediate info. As I hear anything, I'll post it on our
blog
.

Sweet Basil is simply the best Italian that I've eaten at in Needham, and Masala Art is amost as good as India Quality in Kenmore Square.

Yes, your piece on CSFish was indeed interesting! I do hope that one can start in or at least close to Boston.

baileythecat : Our experience at HM was over the top....reasonable bottle of wine, great little biscuits and ham, fantastic fried oysters with a great slaw of some sort, ethereal grits, wonderful gnocchi and a coconut cake that elicited audible yums and groans.
11:07
Devra First
- Oh, good! Glad to hear it's still great. I loooove those little biscuits with ham.

Haven't done RW much recently, but I'm going to a concert at the Somerville tonight and am taking advantage of RW for a dinner at Gargoyles. I'm looking forward to it!
11:08
Devra First
- Fun! What's the show? OK, that's not food-related, I know. Gargoyles seems like a good bet for RW.

Hi Devra, Overall, do you think Quincy has good restaurants? What's the scene like, really? I know it's a big place, but when you think of Quincy, what do you think of it terms of the restaurant scene? Thanks.
11:09
Devra First
- Yes, it definitely has good restaurants. The scene is diverse(ish), with a lot of different Asian restaurants, smaller Italian restaurants, and lots of pub food.

Devra First
- I like Pho Yuen Dong for Vietnamese, which is convenient because it's next to the great Kam Man market.
