Another game arrives and another MWC patsy hits Rice Eccles Stadium. The good news is the first important conference game hits next week against TCU. But we can't look ahead....or should we?
Looking at this game, the theme this week has been Kyle Whittingham convincing his team that they can not look ahead to TCU and past the Lobos. Maybe that is part of the genius of the QB/Playcaller switch last week. Now all week long the team had to be focused on the change and be ready for gameday today. That being said, the Utes should roll on New Mex.
Greg Roberts joined us on Locked on Sports on Thursday and said he expected the Utes to cover the 27 points spread. That should tell you what to expect.
What to watch for....will the offense have it's break out game today under Aaron Roderick and Jordan Wynn? Not just point wise, but do they open it up if Wynn gets his first start.
If they do, it would be a great confidence boost in preparation for next week.
I'm assuming Wynn is the starter. If you want to read into it, he was taking snaps from Zane Taylor (starting center) in warm ups, while Cain took them from Tyler Williams (Zane's backup).
