Good morning on Bye Weekend, Bills fans. We're here for an hour to talk Bills or NFL ... Four big games on the schedule this week: Dallas at Philly Sun-Nite; Pittsburgh at Denver Mon-Nite; San Diego at NYG; Houston at Indy. ... Ready for questions.
11:03
We're also at the midway point of the season (for the Bills and some of the league, anyway). ... I have an NFL at Midseason story for tomorrow's paper and a Bills midseason analysis running Sunday.
Your votes for Midseason MVP??? Brees, Manning, AP. ... Do you put Brett Favre No. 1 or in the top 3? He has 16 TDs, 3 INTs.   Fire away with questions and comments.

Loved T.O.'s comment about how our D is always dealing with a short field and Alvin and the Chipmunks could score on them. In fact, Dave Seville was quoted as saying he couldn't believe how easy it was for Alvin, Simon, and Theodore to score. "They run a Pop Gun offense," Seville said.

TO is a funny guy. ... And he made that comment in kind of an exasperated way ... He'd be even better with the quotes if he had something good to talk about.

On ESPN's First Take, Derrick Brooks said he believed Jairus Byrd was the Rookie of the Year for the 1st half of the season. Lomas Brown chose Percy Harvin. I'd also go with Harvin, but Byrd has been sensational. Who do you think will be the ROY at season's end?
11:07
I think Byrd has been sensation. But in my story tomorrow I put him third on the top rookie list at this point. Nothing against Byrd. What a promising prospect for the Bills for the next 5 years ... Who was the last safety the Bills had with these kind of ball skills. Better than Henry Jones. ... I go with Percy Harvin No. 1. He's such a game-changer. My No. 2 is Brian Cushing. I thought he was great against the Bills and impacts more plays in the game than Byrd at this early point. Just my opinion.

Would someone explain to me how our defense is so good? Also, Who among the assistant coahes would you keep?

The new coach has to have total free reign on who to keep. So if the new coach didn't want to keep anybody, that's the way it goes. Obviously, there are good coaches on the staff, starting with Bobby April and Perry Fewell. I think AVP is a good coach. So I don't necessarily have a problem with keeping any one of them but the reality is the new broom sweeps clean and most if not all will be gone. ... Now ... I think the front four is playing well despite the run stats and the defense has really good veteran leadership. The corners are good. The secondary as a whole is good. McGee is hard core. Florence has been good. I think Kelsay is playing better than the last couple years. ... Now... how long can they keep playing valiant in the face of the TOP disaster. Not a lot longer, I dont think. Check out the run teams the rest of the schedule. Tough.
