What's good? Welcome to Rice-Vanderbilt, the 1,000th game in Owls history. It's a big deal, and an even bigger deal would be if the home team prevails tonight. I'll be here clear into the second half, providing analysis and, hopefully, some wit. The atmosphere at Rice Stadium? Lots of children - don't worry, they're accompanied by adults - on the field, waiting for the Owls to make their entrance. We're about six minutes from the kickoff...

7:07	Jeffrey Martin - So, Nick Fanuzzi is out. He's not even fully dressed. Warming up are John Thomas Shepherd and Ryan Lewis, which begs the question - is alternating quarterbacks just something David Bailiff wants to do? Is his hook with JT going to be that short?

7:08	Jeffrey Martin - The Owls receive. Charles Ross with a 23-yard return. Start at Rice 33.

7:08	Jeffrey Martin - Goodson is the starting running back, and he showed glimpses last week.

7:09	Jeffrey Martin - Vandy's defense is no joke. Rice has 3rd and long already.

7:10	Jeffrey Martin - Three and out for Rice on first possession. But great coverage on the ensuing punt, and we'll see what the D can cook up. Brandon Long, the snapper, limped off the field and is being attended to.

7:12	Jeffrey Martin - Larry Smith at quarterback, and he goes deep on the first play - missed Umoh by a foot or two. Umoh was working on Chris Jammer, I believe.

7:13	Jeffrey Martin - Expect a steady diet of Jared Hawkins. He has back-to-back carries...
