I recently lost 25 lbs and trying to find a good balance to keep it off. Is it normal to gain and lose a few poungs
11:27
Joy -  Completely normal. Instead of focusing on one number as your goal.... add two pounds under and over and create an "ideal range" to maintain. If you lost the weight eating a balanced, calorie controlled diet, you can probably continue on that same plan -- but allow yourself occasional splurges and and some weekly extras. Scale back as soon as you notice an upward trend on the scale. CONGRATS on the weight loss and keep it going!

My daughter is a plus side child at the age of 11. What is an ideal calorie count for a child this age?
11:32
Joy -  Tough to give you a number without knowing her activity level, height, weight, etc. But a good ball park figure is 2400 calories. The easiest thing to immediately get rid of is liquid calories (milk, soda, fruit juice and flavored waters). And of course, encourage as much activity as you can.

I have been told I have a yeast "intolerance/allergy" and finding it really hard to eliminate foods that have a high level of yeast but its so hard, do you have any suggestions?
11:36
Joy -  yes, that's a tough one... if you've been to a board certified allergist and have truly been diagnosed.... lay low on the grain group and enjoy plenty of vegetables, fruits, lean proteins, nuts and seeds. There are also "yeast free breads" available at health food stores. You will still have plenty of things to choose from. Good luck!

How much water do you really need to drink daily? I always thought the more the better.
11:38
Joy -  Although there is such thing as "too much water" most of us don't even come close to enough. Women should aim for 9 cups a day... BUT keep in mind that coffee, tea, diet soda, fruit juice and milk all count toward your daily fluid allotment. If it's a super hot day or you are intensely exercising, you may need even more.
