How will he be remembered, not so much in Nashville, but around the country?
5:16
David Climer -  I think Steve will be remembered for the courageous way he played the position. He played when he was hurt. He played when he was injured. And he almost always played well. He was also a selfless guy who deflected praise to his teammates.

Do we have any more details about Steve's death? This is sad, horrific news for Tennesseans, Mississippians and anyone who admired Steve's selflessness, his positive attitude and his smile.
5:27
David Climer -  Things are still sketchy. After the initial, brief press conference by a police spokesman, I suspect we will have another press briefing in the next couple of hours.

I just want to remember him as the warrior he was.. it brings tear to my eyes this kind of situation.. when i found out about McNair`s death i can only think about the second to last play of super bowl XXXIV. That play shows his courague, mental and phyisical ability and most important of all his heart. RIP Steve McNair Oilers/Titans fans will remember you.

David Climer -  He truly did have a warrior mentality. I remember writing once that he should consider sitting out a game to recover. That day, he couldn't even get through pre-game warmups, went into the locker room and got a pain-killing shot and engineered a remarkable late-game comeback at the Meadowlands.

Has there been any word on whether this was a robbery/ home invasion?

I'm shocked and deeply saddened by the Death of Steve McNair. He'll probably always be my favorite Titan. The Strength and resolve he showed at Quarterback was a beautiful thing to watch unfold on Sunday. I truly hope his place in NFL History will be solidified with a place in Canton. I think alot of us dreamed of Vince Young someday being able to follow in Steve's footsteps. Do you see McNair being elected to the Hall of Fame? His style of play and toughness will always be Remembered!

I hope this does not tarnish his image because todays society is very quick to judge

David Climer -  I think we'd all be wise to reserve judgment until we know more of the story.

I just found out about the tragic shooting of Steve. I am so shocked beyond mere words. I really wish to return to Nashville(I live in the SF Bay Area) for any services that may happen. My prayers go out to his family.

I think that Steve will be remembered as one of the best running QB. I'm shocked. Because of him I'm a football fan and a Titans fan. Since he and Eddie gave us spectacular football, I became a fanatic for Titans football. I'm from Quebec city in Canada, My favorite sport became Football because of he's style of QB. No one before run like him and also able to throw the ball deep.

David Climer -  I agree about Steve's ability to run, but the thing that impressed me so much was how he expanded his game as his career developed. He became a very good pocket passer who ran only when necessary.

Would you consider McNair the most popular athlete in Tennessee history or would one of the many famous Volunteers (e.g. Peyton Manning, Candace Parker) hold that spot?
