I live in Hoke County, 7 miles east of Raeford. Should I expect major changes in my signal? I am a big fan of 50.2 and 50.3

I have cable and have had cable. Is this really anything for me to worry about?
11:10
Tyler Hobbs -  Your signal reception should either improve or, at the least, stay roughly the same.
11:11
Tyler Hobbs -  If you have cable and continue to plan on doing so, you do not have do anything and should not have anything to worry about!

So, for most people, this is a non-event?

Will the frequency change by channel 5 have any effect on signal strength?
11:13
No it should have no effect on signal strength
11:13
DTV Guy -

Cable subscribers don't need to do anything, it will be just fine.

If you are on any cable system other than Time Warner, the signal will go away for a few minutes, but again, you will not need to do anything

In fact you might get the signal even better than before!

How many television viewers in North Carolina really have antennas anyway?
11:14
DTV Guy -  For anyone that pays for TV ( Cable or Satellite) this is in fact a "non event"
11:14
WRAL News -  We got several e-mails overnight from Dish users about seeing a different channel where WRAL used to be. Can you explain what happened? Is it resolved?
11:15
DTV Guy -  Approximently 11% of our viewers recieve us off the air
11:15
The estimate is about 8%-12% Over the Air as the only signal option...however, upwards of 30-40% of homes use over-the-air on a secondary television (like in the kitchen etc)

Will WRAL stay on the same channel? I do have cable.
11:17
DTV Guy -  Dish Network jumped the gun a little last night in getting ready for the transition. They simply started changing channels early.   They will do it correctly today at 1pm

Do I need more than one converter box if I have more than one TV? Can I get more than 1 coupon?
11:18
[Comment From Mary]
We hooked up our converter box last night, but the digital signal on most channels fades in and out. We had great reception of local channels with our rabbit ears before the switch. What is the problem?
11:19
DTV Guy -  You need one box per TV.   You can request 2 coupons per household
