Geoff Blum was available to pinch hit Friday for the first time since suffering a strained left hamstring Sunday.

“I’m doing all right,” Blum said. “I’m taking (batting practice) and hopefully be able to pinch hit. That will be nice.”

Blum, who was out of the starting lineup for the fourth consecutive game, had not taken batting practice since suffering the injury. Barring another setback, he might be ready to start Sunday.

“I’ll be happy if by the end of the series I can (start),” he said.
