I teach high school...I would not trust even the best kids to remain on task if a cell phone is in his/her hands. no matter how good a kid, they will be texting their friend down the hall

12:53
misterlamb -  I have used cell phones in my classroom, and find that the kids are more willing to stay on task by being allowed to use these devices in a structured environment

@guest - how many of those students have their cellphone in hand hidden in their lap/desk/pocket and are texting while seeming to be paying attention?
12:56
[Comment From patdico]
I agree Jimbo, kids are more excited to use the technology they already have .
12:57
misterlamb -  Students will use them whether we allow them to or not. Why not allow proper use while also teaching proper use?

[Comment From patdico]
