Coach Hooks - every season is exciting. you have a great chance to win the game and its something you don't have every place. it makes for a pleasant situation. don't need much motivation.

What kind of kid is James Haynes? I see he has a lot of scholarship offers.

Coach Hooks - he's a great kid, great student, good solid family. the best of his football is ahead of him. whoever gets him will get a quality athlete and person.

Coach Hooks - he's been offered by just about every Big 12 schools, lot of SEC schools. He's had more than anybody we've ever had here. overall he's probably top guy counting Beasley and Earl Thomas.

What is it like seeing Earl Thomas and other players of yours move on to play in college? You've also had some players in the NFL. What role do you feel like you've played in their lives?

Coach Hooks - all you can do is just try to guide and direct them. once they get out of here they are own their own. hopefully we've set values and work ethic. Earl and Kenneth both of them have been succesful at Texas and hopefully guys who go one after them will be.
